I'm working on selling a 1995 456 GT to a customer who lives in Manhattan.
He is having a heck of a time getting insurance for the car that he'll hopefully purchase. He doesn't qualify for the limited usage policy because he doesn't have a bunch of other car. Obviously, a Ferrari in Manhattan is going to be a tough thing to insure but surely you guys can help him/me out. Much appreciate. Any recommendations?

FWIW on Hagerty's limited use clause you don't need a "bunch" of other cars, just one. They specify that you have one other car for normal daily use and the specialty car is for occasional drives. They also require that the specialty car be garaged and that the person is a home owner, but Manhattan might be a special case there.

    What's the issue?

How old is the driver? Street / open lot / public garage / or pvt garage parked? Full coverage or liability only?

    Driving record?

I can easily see why no one would want to provide full coverage for a 456 in manhattan... a minor fender bender will total the car.

I have Hagerty for the Ferrari. Allstate for the other 3. Allstate was who recommended Hagerty when I wanted to add the Ferrari.

I've done just fine with USAA over the years for the Lusso, 360 and 575M.

State farm does my 355 for CHEAP. 300/500/300 coverage
There has to be a driving history issue or no garage

Try American Collectors, Cherry Hill NJ - They've recently expanded that type of policy to include newer cars, use of secure parking garages etc

I use State Farm. I have two other cars but they were more than willing to insure me. They just asked me what I wanted to insure it for. I have a 348 in NC and pay about $50 per month.

It's going to take a bunch of work to find the best deal... he's probably not going to find a specialty policy like Hagerty without owning a daily driver... start with State Farm, but try all the big names. USAA if he qualifies for it.

Have you checked The Hartford? Usually cars more than 10 yeas old can be covered under classic car insurance with them.

I doubt very much that even the wealthiest Ferrari owners in Manhattan register their cars in that borough. More likely they register in the Hamptons, Connecticut or New Jersey where insurance is cheaper. Frankly, you never see a Ferrari in Manhattan and there is no dealership there either.

I'm now in AZ where all four cars are insured by State Farm: three collectors and one daily driver.

I was denied by Hagerty insurance last year for my 2001 360. I have a perfect driving record. I called them to ask why and they told me that my daily driver was too old. My daily driver is a 2000 Ford F150. Go figure? I have heard good things about State Farm and Allstate. Good luck.
