Anybody have any good suggestions on Ferrari Insurance? You know the saying, "if it sounds too good to be true" I've been using Allstate for several years and been watching my premiums go up, up and up. Several weeks ago they gave me this great deal with all my cars and my motorcycle. The agent called me yesterday and gave me the bad news that they decided they wouldn't take the Ferrari. (very nice, after they accepted it)! So, I have to go back to the old policy. Any suggestions?
Just switched from Statefarm to Chubb. Cheaper better coverage though don't even drive onto race track parking lot.....
I was told that Chub was not writing policies for Ferrari. I checked around and found State Farm great rate but no coverage for "Diminished Value" bummer..
I second GEICO. They gave me a better deal than anyone else. Easy to do by phone, with 24/7 support. They also faxed the insurance info to the dealer and the motor vehicle department within minutes.
I used to have State Farm and the rate was good because they also insured my house and 2 other vehicles. Then they dropped my house, so I switched the cars as well as I was pissed off at them. Now I have Infinity and the rate is still ok.
Thank you all for the info.. I'm always amazed at how insurance companies can issue a policy and change their mind in two weeks and cancel it. It would seem that they should have to honor it at least until it expires. To me it seems like a signed contract. But I'm not a lawyer. They gave me 6 weeks to find other insurance. How nice of them......
Hagerty has changed very little in price with me. The poster who said the insurance company took him and then dropped him weeks later, I found interesting. There must be more to the story. Who knows I hope he finds something else. Lee
I just switched to state farm. Hagerty refused me and geico doesn't insure Ferrari in Florida. I must add my wife had an at fault accident that was just erased after three long years of high premiums. It varies state to state. Get on the phone and make a lot of calls. No one way is best for everyone in every state.
Nothing more to the story. I complained to my Allstate agent about my premiums going up and up all the time even though my record is spotless. He put me into another one of their companies (or whatever they do), I added my motorcycle and stacked my uninsured motorist and got a great rate. They wrote the policy and about two weeks later he called me and said they are cancelling it beacause they changed their mind on the Ferrari. I can keep the policy but can't keep the Ferrari on it. My agent then told me he can put me back in the same one I had before. That's the whole story... The truth and nothing but the truth.... I'm gonna look into Hagerty too... Thx.
If you do less than 3,000 miles and don't drive f car regularly you may qualify. Stated value coverage, very reasonable.
I switched from State Farm last year when they cancelled my home owner's. Went with Amica and am really pleased with their pricing. Very responsive if there is a problem as well. Check them out.
