Its fully assembled. You can search them online. I paid like $230 for it over 10 years ago. Today they are about $600. The photos of it are very accurate to what you get. Some real metal parts but the hull is 100% wood.

Is it an Americas cup type vessel? They have a lot of spare budget after the cost cap was introduced to F1, and hydrodynamics aren't a million miles away from aerodynamics...

They just have a lot of money to burn. America's Cup is carbon fiber catamarans that use hydrofoils to barely touch the water. I'm sure there is some stupid money out there that says: "Ferrari.....please build me a sailboat."

Enzo sold a friend a few engines for the speed boat depicted above. It was cool but not competitive.

The Americas cup boats are single hull, not a cat. They are hydrofoils which I find slightly annoying because I happen to like boats to be IN the water. Oh well, they didn’t ask me. It’s a bit like watching F1 longing for V10’s and no hybrid BS. They keep pushing inferior technology on every type racing and claiming progress. It’s BS.

I do like watching the Americas cup and F1 designers, most notably Newey has been very vocal about wanting to apply his F1 knowledge to designing an Americas cup boat. I believe Ferrari tried to use this Hypersail effort to lure him to Ferrari. If Ferrari has the resources to hire the right people for Hypersail then why not. I’m sure Elkann has pushed this and I don’t mind it. It’s extremely prestigious and would be amazing if they did well. It’s not taking anything away from their other racing efforts so go for it.

Got it. Sounds like a solid, well-made model with real metal parts and a wooden hull. Prices have definitely gone up since you bought it now around $600. The photos online are spot-on for accuracy. Nice find.

It is. I think they are made in Vietnam. Here’s a photo in my place.

Ferrari used to make boat anchors. I had one. Returned it because it took too long to reach bottom.
