I think you'd have to be seriously determined to pay $5m for a LaFerrari.
When I sent out my price check e-mail about a month ago, I got responses from a dozen people claiming to have LaFerraris for sale. The prices ranged from $3 to $3.7 mil. Who knows if they all really existed, but I think it was a good indication that their value has fallen significantly in the last year and a half.
In all honesty I'd like to think if you are shopping at this level sensibility is right at the bottom of the list of priorities. For me the Enzo makes a lot of sense when I clambered into one and was bombarded by the howl the V12!
My 918 old has had some huge warranty invoices I seriously think all these cars will drop in value once they come off warranty and people realise the sort of stupid service bills they could be looking at In contrast my F40 has been the cheapest car I've ever had to service - hopefully I don't jinx it by saying that
Might be cheaper in the longrun to remove the hybrid system somehow and let it run without that lol. I'm not saying it will be inexpensive to do that at all, but the alternative to keep it the way it is and maintain sounds insane. We have a few threads in the aviatorchat subforum here with turbine rebuilds going into the hundreds of thousands. It makes Ferraris look inexpensive, ha.
I had been offered two cars both at $3.3m. One sold at 3.15m. Never asked about the other. Prices definitely coming down but that $4-$5M range was a brief period of irrational exuberance that is gone for now. I wouldn't be that surprised if we see some sell with a 2 as the first number. Maybe they bottom mid 2's then stabilize and eventually start to move up further down the line I don't think it's time to buy one just yet until we see where the bottom actually is
those must be cars with miles... 3.15 doesn't seem real to me. Im not calling you a liar... maybe the guy that told you that LOL... but not you
It was real. I can't give specifics but the 3.15 was a done deal. I can firmly say the one who informed me of this sale was involved in it firsthand. Many people out there know of this particular deal and might divulge it but I promised not to say who the seller or buyer were. I have to keep to my word on that part. completely understand. Can you comment if it was a storied car? Or roughly the mileage? Also color if possible. Thanks!
and to answer these questions from technom3 I can give a little info without revealing those involved in the deal just so you can see this was a very solid clean low mile LaF Can you comment if it was a storied car? - No story whatsoever on this car. Clean carfax & one owner of course. Or roughly the mileage? - While I know the exact mileage I will just give you a range to protect the innocent so to speak. Between 1000 and 2000. Also color if possible - Red of course. All Ferrari's are RED! I won't give the interior though as that narrows the field a bit too much even if it is red, black or other. Again sorry for not providing every specific as those involved would seemingly prefer to stay off the radar so to speak. Anyway, you can see the market is in the low 3's as of this moment. Sure many are asking mid 3's and even low 4's now but good luck. Those cars will probably sit unsold.
Several LaFerraris will come up for sale at the various auctions in Monterey, CA, August 17-19, 2017. A red one and also a yellow one. Marcel Massini
I think there's definitely some logic there, I think Veyrons would be much higher value second hand if the service costs weren't so high.
Sincerely appreciate the info! Thank you! No worries on the interior... I just wanted to know if it was a "goofy" color combo... like maybe some yellow exterior with green interior or a tan interior (a guy I knew had a yellow tan enzo) So it was a nice car! A little miley by LaF standard but that standard is very ridiculous
Was the yellow/tan Enzo a North Carolina car? He got a new motor on warranty and the car was bargain priced when sold as I recall. Solid yellow was common on the Enzo but there seems to be a resistance to that on the LaFerrari.
Gooding is offering a Giallo Modena one-owner LF at their upcoming Pebble Beach auction. Marcel Massini
Challenger you mean? Don't think so, this time. Some Japanese mid-sized SUV might do the job..... Marcel Massini
Yes the Challenger but then a Japanese SUV will be more subtle. Maybe some time on the plane? Did you ever complete your story for publication about the J. Page car >12301 the pale yellow early Daytona coupe seen at the NY auto show? Daytonas will be big next year... and those LaFerrari wheels are not black! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yup thats the car. My understanding is that was the only yellow tan/cuoio car built. A smarter man than I can say otherwise
