Seems to be a good source of info, not to rely to heavily on it but is it widely accepted, consulted??

I couldn't possibly answer the question without bias, :), so I'll just stick to the facts...

The Ferrari Market Letter is the longest-running Ferrari-related publication in history. Other Ferrari publications have come and gone, but none have stood the test of time like the FML. With subscribers on six continents, the Ferrari Market Letter is widely considered the bible on the Ferrari market. Though there are some who disagree with things like the FML's Asking Price Index, no one has ever published a better index. Ever.

...also, the staff writer they have is one helluva guy. :D

Except that on a couple of those continents, it is considered the Koran instead. :)

I have been a FML subscriber for decades and read it from cover to cover the day it comes in the mail. But, I do wish Gerald would have one of his cronies follow up with the sellers and post a "Selling Index" too which represents the true value of a car. Gerald could make it a requirement that if you post a For Sale Ad that you must inform him of the selling price once sold...

I rotate in and out of the FML. I like it overall and it is a good source for used cars.

It's a great publication but their security level is so high it's difficult for me to get in and out.

I asked that something be done, and my request went on deaf ears.

So, upon renewal time I did not.

How about a complimentary subscription to the buyer if they inform him of the price they paid. This would also take the ad out of the FML :)

Even better question, how could the selling prices be validated? I think a lot of people sell cars and tell exagerated stories regarding the actual sales price.

By asking fot a copy of the sales contract. While I understand a lot of sellers may refuse, if the FML could at least some of the selling prices us readers could get some idea of the market value of their cars that the 'asking price' doesn't really show...

I think that most dealers are able to get more than a private party sale as they should. That may be part of the problem in trying to get selling price index as well as condition.

Exactly. Hopefully, I can save Gerald from having to explain the reason behind the API, again and again and again and again.

Sellers always brag high. Buyers always brag low.

The only thing for sure is the asking price posted in the FML.

What I don't understand is why people can't take this at face value. The API is what it is. I think most people automatically apply a 10% to 20% discount to estimate getting prices. The math ain't real hard to do. Try it. It's easy.

Is the FML worth it in term of the for sale ads ONLY? Or once the web and local papers (of major city) are searched, that's pretty much cover all of the available Testarossa out there. Thanks.

I havent subscribed but was thinking about it, classified wise based on what I saw it looked kind of outdated, is that just the version for people who arent subscribed, or are the classified adds generally outdated? I see a lot of people are big fans that was my only question thanks
