Hi everyone! I made a potential road map of models and their power until 2030.
If the power race keeps going in 2030 we will have a V8 spider with more than 1000hp!! What?!
Can you imagine the lunacy? And don't forget, any kid or old geezer can buy and drive one.

    Check this out:

    Ferrari V8
    HP/Year
    670/2015
    *S720/2018
    780/2020
    *S830/2023
    900/2025
    *S960/2027
    1020/2030

    Ferrari V12
    HP/Year
    740/2012
    *S780/2016
    800/2017
    *S840/2022
    890/2027
    *S940/2032

Mclaren V8 (as comparison because I know Ferrari will not let Mac run unchecked in Power. In weight that's another story unfortunately...)

    HP/Year
    650/2014
    720/2017 -
    *S760/2020
    820/2021
    *S860/2024
    900/2026
    *S960/2029
    1020/2031

    *S - Speciale/LT/Track version

I know that with electric engines power is cheap. Like a good friend of mine said, power is cheap and easy but weight its expensive. Since companies are in business for money they will try to maximise profits (power) with less investment (less weight). And since the consumers love power, power is what you will get.

What are your thoughts on this? Will this be the future (power race) or these companies will say, STOP (and try to make cars more interesting in some other way)? For example if a 812 SF owner has all the aids off the car will cut the power all the time, if he doesn't the car slips and can be very dangerous. So whats the point?!

And if Ferrari add a lot of power but has to put a lot of weight it amounts to nothing too. For example a car with 2000hp/2000kg and another car with 600hp and 1200kg.
Sure the whale will eat it up in the straights but in a track, real driving with curves what do you thing it will happen ;)?!

Also if Ferrari sticks to NA V12s in 2030 potentially the V8/hybrid cars will surpass the V12 in power. Add to taht the fact that the middle engine V8's will be much lighert and the V12's will be just for older customers that apreciate the sound and refinement of the V12's. Do you think this will happen? Middle range (V8) surpassing the top range (V12)?

Thank you for your thought on this!

Exactly, Michael Leiters, Ferrari's chief technology officer said in an interview that Ferrari wont back off the V12's for the top of the line GT, heavy cars. That said, they will have less performance than the middle range (apparently Ferrari will resuscitate the Dino making an entry level Ferrari V6). I mean already the Pista is faster than the 812 (maybe the 812 has more top speed because of the pista's less HP and more aero drag) in a straight line, on a track its not even fair.

Ferrari already showed their V12 hybrid strategy with the La Ferrari. They will heavily modify the system and bring it down to their other cars in the line up. It’ll be amazing when their 488 replacement ends up being faster than the La Ferrari.

Since the topic of this thread is purely horsepower, I would disagree with your predictions of V8 higher power than V12. 488 is less than 812. 458 less than F12, F12 still greater than 488 and Pista, and so on. If you add electric to V12 as is rumored than still the V12 cars will exceed V8s in HP. Hypers will always have more than the rest. I don't see any of those trends changing.
