Hi i am new to the forum i have a 2001 ferrari modena, car was driving fine, i went to go start it and the hazzard lights wont shut off. It still will start and allow me to drive it, but with the hazzard lights on and the red led bulb keeps blinking and wont turn solid. Any ideas or any help?? Of course this happens on a sunday when the dealership is closed. Thanks in advance!

Seeing as no one has responded I though I'd try and help.

This is strange. Sounds like an alarm issue. Check your battery to ensure its fully charged and functioning correctly. These cars are extremely sensitive to low/bad batteries as Rifledriver has often pointed out.

If it were me I'd do a system reset using the on/off switch in the front trunk. Leave the car switched off for a couple of hrs to be sure all the memories are erased.

Switch the car back on and ensure you follow the correct restart procedure (do a search on here for complete details, as its been covered numerous times). This allows the car to re-learn correctly. Lots of electrical issues are often solved with a system restart......

Hopefully that will solve the issue. If not and the alarm light and hazzards keep blinking I'd suspect a failure within the alarm unit. Strange as the default for a failure is usually a constantly illuminated red LED and not a blinking one. This constant illumination usually signifies the internal alarm battery is dead (another search will show you how to fit a new battery and fix the issue).

I do not think you will find anything wrong with your hazzard light switch but it would be easy to remove this and unplug. If the hazzards stop flashing the switch is shot.

Hope the above helps you with your issue. Good luck.

Ok so after having the car at ferrari service for 4 days, they have to determined that the car needs a new alarm kit, which runs about 2500 and 8-10 hours of labor so all together about 4-5k and they dont know even know how long its gonna take to get the part once they order it! What a headache!

Sorry to hear. Hope you get it Sorted.

This is exactly why I don't use Ferrari. Where possible I do the work myself as I enjoy it. If its something specialised I use a good independent. Personally I think the independent specialist places are not only cheaper but are more knowledgeable and do a better job.
