Are these generally one fits all or are they model specific? Will this fit a sixities car just as the ad says? Thanks in advance. john Ferrari 308 328 348 365 400 412 512 Metal Cloisonne Front Nose Emblem Badge | eBay. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They are actually more "year specific" or by era anyway. It changes restlessly over the years. So short answer is that no it's not one size fits all. Look at the corners, and the image of the horse itself to see what I mean. Check out Black Barts also..
This PF is nearing the end of its restoration and it has a highly unusual feature......The Ferrari badge on the nose is at least twice the size of the normal item. My reaction was that sometime in the past it was changed from the correct sized badge and naturally had to be removed. However the owner of the car is convinced it is original and has photographs from the early 1960's where it is evident.......Does anyone know this car or have any early history ? Further more has anyone ever seen this feature on any other Ferrari ? I certainly haven't. The badge is identical in manufacture other than size and is countersunk into the coachwork. The trunk lid on 0953 is made from fibreglass which is definitely original. Apologies John for high jacking this thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login

John: Not too many years ago, one of the marque magazines had an article on the evolution of the nose badges.
I would not doubt it's authenticity ! First car comes to mind is agnellis 1956 410 super fast One off . Huge almost gross nose badge but original ! Seen the car a few times over the years and the badge is always a bit of a shocker at first ? Can the classic he dept confirm this via records ? Check Antoine pruets book "the road cars " many original shots in there ..... Who knows ? Gary Espada 8394 EtypeFhc 887465
Thank you Gary.....We haven't got as far as Classiche approval yet....if the owner wishes to go this route.....but I fear an almighty argument with them if we do.....I dont have a lot of faith in their knowledge after being told that the other Series 1 car 1421GT that I have should have the built in reversing light.....IF it is original it obviously must be retained but it just looks so wrong......I shall take better pictures today but would appreciate any first hand knowledge on this actual car. Thanks again.
look at the thread above titled: 330GT coupe by Drogo: another too-ugly-to-love car ; and the picture attached to post #6.
call me nuts but if I could only have one F car for the road only this would be the one!! Gary Espada 8394 EtypeFHC 8887465
Do you know what material this badge is made from? I have removed the badge from 0953 and it is encased in perspex..........I have photographed and will post photos tomorrow. However the Ferrari badge appears to be painted on to the perspex rather than a metal badge encased....This may all sound crazy but given we have photos of the car with this strange badge from 1961 I am intrigued.
