When is the Ferrari on oak street event this year?
FCA's event schedule has been recently updated on their website and this event is not listed. http://www.fcacentralstates.org/events.aspx
That's 2 years in a row I loved going to this event and then grabbing lunch at Tavern while sitting outside and enjoying the scenary!! I hope it's back with a vengence for 09.
The event costs a lot of money and unless you find a sponsor to cover that, you can't really do it. FCA now has the Galleria Marchetti lunch instead, which I'll be happy to join this year. Also a little bird told me, that next year FCA Central States will have a nice treat for all of us. Stay tuned.
http://www.fcacentralstates.org/event_description.aspx?eventid=182 Marchetti's family has a place downtown, which is basically a nice setting for parties and events (Joe used to have his Holiday parties here). Pete started this last year as a new event within the FCA Central States lineup. Last year we had unfortunately a date conflict with FOC, but this year both clubs aligned their schedules early enough to avoid that.
Joe Marchetti (may he RIP) was part of the family that owned the Como Inn, and he also sold used Ferraris. His memory still lives on. I can remember having many a good time at the Marchetti family estate! Yeah, I miss Joe.......... Use to have 'Ferrari Fantasia' there.
Joe invited me once to one of his X-mas parties. It was a wonderful dinner followed by a "fashion show": The models on the runway were wearing "dresses" made completely and solely (!) out of car emblems chained together. It was quite a sight and I had no camera with me. ARGH!
