Lets just cut him some slack until his maturity catches up with his age. Drive them if you got them and park them when you want to.

Put Blizzaks on it and drive it. ;)
Heck: Scotland? Gulf Stream warming. When was the last blizzard there? The Triassic? :p

Is there a parking garage where you work?

I've been keeping my third car in storage, but I figure a second parking permit for the office is cheaper, and would let me drive it more often. (One at home, one at the office, and one back and forth -- and I can pick which of the two for each trip.) (Once they finish the next door construction and restore garage security.)

Oh, and yes, I drive my Ferrari in the rain. It's sweet, but it doesn't melt like sugar. :)

The heater works *much* better than the aircon. :D

from reading many similar threads, it's my understanding the definitive solution to this problem is to purchase an enclosed car trailer. you park the trailer where the car is and park the car in the trailer. simple? nest ces pas...

Even if you drive your car daily, it needs to be garaged when it is not being driven. The elements will definitely ruin a car, not to mention rodents. I suggest finding a garage near by the store it, or else suffer the consequences. Most people dont drive their ferraris in rain and stormy weather, much less in the snow. Not that they will dissolve in the rain, it is just a very expensive car and you dont want a 200K car to look like a junkyard cheap car.

Animals will have a hayday in the enginebay. I remember seeing a photo of a cat inside a 360 engine bay sleeping ontop of the plenum. Picture squirrels or rats making a nice home inside it, not so pretty. Let it age gracefully in the elements if you want, just keep it in a spot where leaves and tree sap won't get all over it. It's only an inanimate object after all.

Can you not find a place to store it for the winter? That's what I did with my cars before I built a garage.

Let's see if I understand this correctly: Someone can afford to own a 360 worth well over $100k but cannot afford to build a garage for it or, if there is no space, can't afford a couple hundred dollars a month to rent a garage for it and yet they are worried about what bad thing might happen to it in the cold? Or they are somehow smart enough to earn enough money to buy the car but they are not smart enough to think about the effects of winter and outside exposure on the car is, nor about what is necessary to protect it?

I don't see the issue here. If you won't spend a small fraction of a car's value to protect it, you must not care about the car's value to begin with. In that case, don't waste our time, just drive it until it rots or until you get tired of it and just buy the next expensive toy.

Obviously he does care which was the point of his post. He was merely inquiring into what would happen if left out in the elements. If you feel he's wasting your time why respond?

    Tough crowd!
