It was just a little over two years ago that another metro Boston driver was killed in a 360 the burned after hitting a tree. The passenger was pulled from the car in that case. It would seem that in both these cases driver error was the cause, but the explosive nature of these fires just seems unacceptable to me. It seems that Ferrari and others are more concerned with producing cars with capabilities way beyond those of most owners with little concern for safety. Considering the Ferrari can build an F1 car, little more than a fuel tank on wheels, that can withstand a high speed impact without creating an inferno that they should be ably to transfer some of that F1 technology to their street cars as well. It sickens me that people are dying in crashes that would seem to be survivable in the absence of fire.
