Here something new, I was spoken to this morning as i was driving along Parramatta road at the traffic lights. It was my mistake as it was a beautiful day, I had the top off. I normally sit 2 feet ahead of any car along side of me to avoid the stares. But today I forgot & I paid for it with some well constructed verbal abuse. Two look a-like I wish I was a black kinda guys in a (Nissan something or other) with lots of doof doof sound and flairs said QUOTE, Hey wanker, I bet this will blow that bag of **** your driving any day of the week, to which I simply smiled , placed her in 1st and hit 100 km in just over 5 seconds. Is it that jealosy is so rife that the common motoring man hates us, Do they view us that we are spoilt, I know lots of Ferrari owners who live on the bread line just to keep there cars, not everyone is a bill Gates. I think its boils down to poor education, as a car nut I can enjoy peoples motoring passions regardless of make model. I look out while I'm driving to enjoy other peoples cars, so why do we have all these jerks about.

I've never really had any problems. The number of compliments exceeds the wankers 100 to 1 even from the westie peasants. I reckon you just copped bad luck to get the few doof doofs with a bigger chip than most - fortunately, they didn't have time to pull their gun :0

Maybe they just wanted to hear the Ferrari's beautiful engine note so they acted like d!ckheads to get you to floor it.... ;)
However I think thats unlikely, just ignore them as they don't represent the majority.
If I pulled up next to Ferrari I wouldn't say anything at all - just stare and admire :)

Oh crap :) you'd do what half the blokes you pull up next to do... pretend they don't notice or don't care while looking out the corners of their eyes and driving past and slowing down for ten blocks :D

I said I would stare at the car - bit hard to do that out the corner of my eye I would think ;)

I couldn't care less if the owner notices me looking or not - its the same with taking pictures, if they see me then good for them :) However if the owner is standing by his/her car then I would ask before walking up and taking photos. ;)

I have had very much the same experiences with my Lotus (and im not putting myself in the same league as an F car, i know theres still a massive gap), you often get jealous people being dickheads, but as 348CH said, its probably 100 good/positive comments, thumbs up or smiles to ever 1 wanker out there.

hot cars/chicks are hard to not look at... at least taking photos of cars might not result in injuries and court appointments.

as for loserdom, among the regular car guys there's always gonna be the lowest-common-denominator... typed "ferrari" into the search of the "kill stories" section of a nissan forum, LCD's are just a copy/paste away...

Sh*t if thats all it takes to see a Ferrari hit 100 in 5, then people should say that at every set of lights :)

Sounds like an experienced car nut!

careful what you call those Jap cars - I plan on getting a 01/02 WRX soon and after taking one for a test drive last week I wouldn't call that a 'piece of slanty-eyed jap crap' ;)
I agree its no comparison to a Ferrari or any other exotic but its by no means a bad car.

Thanks (I like the name Muhammad :D ), but personally I prefer a newer car at this stage - I have an old car now and I'm sick of it ;)
When I own a Porsche I want it to be a 911 - and preferably a 993 as they are my favourites but are still out of my price range :(
So in terms of cheap (well relatively anyway) new 'sports' cars the Jap cars are basically the only option - maybe an Audi S3 or similar small Euro cars are also a possibility :)

    show me a GT4 for around $30K and I'll consider it ;)

wonder what happened to it...? price of admission is only one issue though.

i'd be concerned about getting a 3 or 4 year old car though... just out of warranty and ready to start breaking stuff.
