Way to bring a post from the dead, I thought only Dr Strangelove had the right to bump old posts... Anyway, I used to want a P4 replica myself when I was younger, but now, I'd want some "inspired" but not exact. The fact is, that not even all of the P3/4's were production identical, and changes and updates were made throughout their history.
If any one is still interested. I have a P4 Replica from Bailey Cars North America. Race built tube frame. With a 400i V12 engine. Its a blast. A Ferrari P4 is my favorite Ferrari and since it not really plausible to own, I went the Replica route. Bailey makes a few late 60's race cars like the P4 and 917, and they are very well built and are safer. Here is a vid of me taking it out for a spin. His post didn't sound like it was for sale! Sounds like he's keeping it. He's just recommending a route the OP didn't mention. That vid would be cooler if you kept it in a single lane. Kinda spoils it for me.
Tervuren is right, I just wanted to get a +1 for replicas. I know that many owners shunn replicas, thats why I'm posting in an old general thread. I am located in lower NY, I would be happy to show it to anyone. But everything is for sale, especially in this economy. If anything, I think this is how this thread started, I can get someone intouch with a contact, to get themselves a high quality replica, since, believe me, its really hard! If I could afford now I would be making you a really good offer. The car is sweet and is got a Ferrari motor.
Hey rgonaut-is that road Route 22 in Armonk? I didn't read the entire post, went straight to the video and immediately recognized the road as I've caned a few cars along there lol. Gotta be Armonk/North White Plains.
Thought so. Used to be on that quite a bit back in the day. Saw a Lancia Delta Integrale years ago on that road with Vermont plates. Beautiful P4 btw.
This is all I can find right now. I'm sure my father has more. We only had the car for 6 months. Picture doesn't really do it justice. The car is only like 3ft off the ground. In the vid in my original post the car handles so well, you don't even know your turning. We bought it used/raced. The Ferrari V12 engine is out of a 400i. Tube frame, hand built from the ground up. Race proven, race quality parts including AP racing brakes. This car is fiberglass but I think Bailey makes aluminum. They make race cars replicas made for racing and street. They deliver the cars as a rolling chassis without engine transmission to the buyers specs. We feel in love with this one and couldn't wait the 6 month build/delivery time for a new one. That's as much as I know but I can find out more. here is a 10 sec clip. and photos attached. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWOghlFRK78&feature=youtu.be Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
