Hello guys, good thread! I don't want to be silly, but since I saw some references for websites with paint listings and color samples, I decided to share some from an obvious source as well (Ferrari S.p.A. :D):

    • California (open) Configurator
    • 458 Italia (open) Configurator

As you may already know, these are good to check current and 'new classic' (as VRM listed) colors and may enlighten the semblance of some obscured colors, although I know this 3D model is not equal to the real thing. If somebody has the patience, you can change the number "/18/" (18 = Avorio) on California's link from 1 to 27 and browse through the colors generating printscreens for each.

PS1: I am starting a new 'color game' in my flickr page. If anyone is interested in criticizing and helping, pls head to my galleries and check some of my inputs based on pictures posted and described by other flickr users (I cannot add my own pictures).
PS2: Since we are supposed to give contributions for new colors, I ask you: is the denominated giallo Modena triplo strato a new color or is it even worth mentioning? It looked a little different to me, see pics below.

The quote is from a previous post of mine. The following photo is from Foglio No. 10 of the 365 GT 2+2 Pininfarina Parts Catalog. After 25 years, I just noticed it. Could that be an Italver paint sticker encircled in red?

Does anyone know what that is?

Throughout the years of the early V12 cars a truly vast range of colours (some of which were named after famous racehorses) were available for Ferraris. Customers could also choose special colours, so it is fair to say that there was no such thing as a standard colour. Principally Scaglietti-built cars such as the 275 GTB series were delivered with paint manufactured by Glidden Salchi, whereas those built by Pininfarina had paint manufactured by either PPG or Duco, the latter only being in solid colours (non-metallic).

Can anyone clue me in re: my paint sticker ? The label is in the trunk, labeled Grigio Scuro but not what I would call a dark gray color (more of a bluish gray). I don't recognize the logo either, its neither Glasso, Glidden, nor PPG...color code are all printed there, I cannot find another paint sticker or imagine that Ferrari would have used 2...

Here is a photo of the paint sticker on my 275 GTS (I also posted it in the vintage section.) I'd appreciate any help you can give in decoding it. I know that the first code (95c-9614) is Rosso Cina, but what is the second number (562028)? I want to return the car to the original color. Any experience with finding a modern paint code for rosso cina? Thanks, Bill

Here is the external color line from the build sheet from my 1998 355F1 GTS:

External Color 65453300 Nero DS 1250

It may be that the longer number, in your case 562028, is an internal factory number rather than a supplier's number. May be a parts bin location, or a paint color usage sequential number, or something else equally obscure.

The new metallic pearl yellow IS a new color obviously, a modern update of the classic Fly Yellow....

    I really like it!

    3 stage paint, IIRC....

That's beautiful! It almost looks blue in the shade. It seems Verde Silverstone was a popular color among the 2+2s back in the '90s. Can you tell us the serial number of your car?

Hi, Sky... Can you tell us some of the colors produced by Duco?

Hi, Lee... Grigio Scuro should be a bluish gray, and not a dark gray. What is the serial number of your car (this was a popular color among 400s? Can you post a picture of the sticker, as well as the car itself?

Yes, Giallo Modena Triplo Strato, or Giallo Modena Tristrato, is certainly worth mentioning, as it's Ferrari's first metallic yellow paint.

Hi, Bill... I don't know if there is a modern color equivalent to Rosso Cina. However, I did find a 330 liveried in Rosso Cina with a similar paint code: 95C-9615S. What is the serial number of your car? Can you post a picture of your car?

Nice! Congratulations! Seems you're becoming intimately familiar with your new car. Have you located the assembly number, or the engine number?

The dealer wanted to charge me $60 for bottle the size of a nail polish bottle.

I tried to get it locally instead because I am not paying $60 for that when the same dealer charged me three years ago $15 for the same bottle.

The company locally that I called tried to look up the paint code but they said it comes up blanc, they can only get the name FER102 to come up but no instructions on how to make that colour.

    Any advice?
