    Hi all,

Was wondering if your cars get vandelised when you park them in OZ?

Can you take them to Coles and buy a litre of milk and come back and find it not attacked? Or do you only take them on daily drives?

You need to be careful where you park, I don't think it's so much of a Ferrari thing as opposed to a carelessness problem, ie opening a door onto the car, bad driver scraping it geting in or out of their bay etc.
I take my car to Chadstone Vic all the time, but I park either out in front of Borders or in the parking area by the KMart loading ramp. I don't park where someone can park next to me and have never had a problem in the F car. Unfortunately I have had the door and the boot damaged in the MB in two separate incidents in the past couple of months. Once a shopping trolley, other time a scratch and dent in the top of the boot, as if someone had dropped a can of dog food or some such on it, this is after going there for 10 years with no issues though.

    Hi Jam,
I recall an incident one or two years ago on a NSW Ferrari Club drive day to the Hunter Valley. While commuting to the Valley one member had his ferrari visciously vandalised when some less appreciative people threw rocks at it, damaging the paint and bodywork. This is probably an isolated incident, but ultimately it comes down to how much of a risk you want to take when out in your car and park it. Where ever you go, it'll never fail to draw attention, and it could one day draw the attention of one of those less appreciative people, its always a risk...
    my first post, how special!

    Yo Jam!
Ive had a few instances where people would key the paint. I had that on the M3 as well though.
Someone through a Hammer at the 360 once. Massive dent in the door. I got it fixed rather than replaced. But i do now believe that it was an accident after repeated talks with the guy that did it. :)

Basically you just have to actively think about where your going to park, more so than you do when normal parking. Try to park in areas where People can possibly see something if something happens. Also try to look for Security cameras in Carparks and park under them, or in view of them, Trust me, having footage of the guy makes it so much easier. That way, i can give my hitman a photo to look at!! :D

Hammer, rocks wow. Guess you have to pick your parking spots and suburbs.
Its good to know I could still possibly use my car as a daily driver and shopping trolley in Aus.
    Thanks for the replies.

These careless people spoil it for fans like myself, I would love to see more Ferrari's parked out in the open so I can appreciate them and take pictures. :)
If I see one I don't touch it, I just look over it and admire the beauty of it. I remember at a local Ferrari meeting here seeing 3 girls (who looked to be of very low class) walking up to one of the members 360 and draping themselves all over so they could take pics. THe owner told them to not touch the car but they continued regardless.....now they didn't damage the car at all, but left finger/smear marks and just showed disrespect which pisses me off. :(
I've had my rant so I'm going now. :)

It is a gamble. I think many Ferrari owners wouldn't park their cars in a poorly lit street at night in an "alright" suburb, but will park their cars on a busy highly populated road/area (such as Jetty Road, Glenelg here where I saw a 360 Spider Coupe parked for hours), not because of the posing factor (though it may happen), but because people will appreciate the car and keep an eye out if something happens and hopefully leave it at that.

Then you have to realise that the car is there to be enjoyed.

No choice than to park on the road sometimes - for instance the driveway at my sister's place is so badly constructed I can't get the 308 over it without nasty scraping so when I stay overnight I HAVE to park on the street. So far no problems other than bird poo...
