Thought some of you might be interested in a pedal car I've been working on over the past couple of months. I originally got it off ebay (its been too cold to get working on the rust bucket in the garage) with a view to making it into a peudo 1952 375 F1, but child friendly in terms of sharp edges and prangability.

I'm not sure who made it - but understand it came originally from Milan in the 70's. No identifying marks. Self coloured injection moulded polypropylene on a tubular chassis - all intersection joints pierced and twisted.

The nose has been shortened and an eggcrate grille let in - but spring mounted so it can be crashed and recover back to nominal. The rear end has had an all new fairing made, foam filled and rivited to include a headrest and external filler cap. The seat was scratch built and leather covered with a Nadiesque steering wheel and period Jaeger dials. The front screen was developed as a wrap around to be more child friendly than the original and the exhaust system raised a little to double as side protection.

I was going to stick an engine in it. 150cc 4 stroke with a Castrol R mix in the petrol. Good for 70mph at least - but the thought of my granddaughter getting a speeding ticket put me off.
