Hello- first post, I just got my first Ferrari a 2017 488 spider with 7200 miles on it what a great car. My question is should i invest in the power warranty. How many of you have it? is it worth it ? I know the people that bought the car with 800 miles on it from dealer, they never drove the car hard at all.

Other than speed sensors in the gearbox and the occasional turbo issue the cars are pretty dang reliable.

that being said, I bought it on my cars.

I have a 2015 Spider and agree that these later model vehicles appear to be very solid. However, since repair and replacement parts are so pricey, I look to the extended warranty as an insurance policy. You pay a price, hope you never have to use it but if you are unfortunate, it could save you from an extremely expensive repair.

By the way, from 2017 models on of 488 Ferrari is also offering full factory warranty until 7`th years of the car. Also not power warranty but the full like the factory one when you buy the car new covering really everything.

I recall this topic being thoroughly discussed and the general consensus that economically the odds are against the warranty and in the long run it was cheaper to self-insure. However, many found value in the piece of mind. I have a warranty on my 458 and have never used it and do not have a warranty on my F12 and have never needed it. Just FWIW.

IMO : The car is a 2017 and you have already purchased it ? Ferrari allowing you to add the power warrantee ?

Well if they are I would go for the FULL FACTORY warrantee. You can do that right up to 7 years old. This way it will cover EVERYTHING like a factory warrantee. Leather , trim , sticky parts , everything.

And you will be having the last free service so make sure EVERYTHING is spot on.
