I have a 2013 Ferrari 458 Spider. it has 11,000 miles and runs great. I now put on around 4k to 5k miles per year. I was wondering what the consensus is on taking the power train extension that costs about $5,200 per year.
Would love to hear what my fellow owners think.

I have the same year spider and added the warranty. It’s just nice piece of mind if an engine or transmission goes. Others say it’s a pretty bulletproof car and not to bother.

This is discussed from time to time, and the answers usually come back to the same thought, "what is your risk tolerance level?" Insurance is always a difficult choice, when you buy it and nothing happens, you question future purchase decisions, and when you don't buy it and then need it, you regret not having it.

Personally, considering what I paid for my cars, and understanding the costs involved with out-of-warranty repairs, I'd rather have the peace of mind and drive my cars without concern for repairs, but I certainly understand owners that elect to forego warranty extensions, but I suspect most of those cars spend a lot of time in the garage.

If money is a consideration, you'll regret the decision if nothing happens.
