    actually I think the older cars are easier for the independents to fix I know I take my DINO to an indy that specializes in old performance cars and builds cars... heck the first time I went there I saw a Dino engine being rebuilt..among others . The old cars are just gas and spark they have weber carbs as many others do and no electronics except a. simple electronic ignition....anyway thats my experience ....

    Agree the really old ones are fine, its the newer old ones that are tricky, when I had the problem with my 575 gearbox oil not being changed properly by the dealer who sold me my car, I had a real ferrari tech explain how the gearbox in the F1 is properly filled and he showed me all the diagrams, I can see why the shop that did mine made such a giant,costly mistake. I won't say their name but they're a super well known indy shop that lots of guys recommend on here......

    You don’t have to play games to get a Lamborghini or mclaren or Porsche. Ferrari all the cars go to old customers and people who’ve spent and lost fortunes in the past. I paid $60k over sticker to get my 812 which worked out better than losing $70k on a gtc4lusso and spec an 812 out and wait, I paid and got it right away. Now you get an 812 below sticker I just didn’t care but I know I wasn’t gonna go through the nonsense of buying a gtc4 and losing money just to wait and get the 812 later. You can walk right into a Lamborghini dealer and get an aventador right away if you want.

    I hear you on the Ferrari "games", but I suspect if Lambos, McClarens and Porsches were in greater demand, those dealers would be playing the same games. For Ferrari to adapt they would have to build maybe 20,000 cars a year to satisfy the demand.

    Me thinks Ferrari is going to suffer the same problem as Harley. After decades of ignoring X'ers and Millennials, Harley is paying the price. I suspect Ferrari will eventually have the same problem.

    Its not that the ferraris are more in demand its that ferrari artificially limits the supply, there's countless aventadors out there. The aventador is a $500k car and look how many sold. I promise more aventadors sold than F12s and the aventador costs alot more.

    We know as of last july they had sold 8,000+ aventadors.

    It's an amazing car, but im a bigger guy and I had a murcielago a few years ago, the front engine cars suit me better, im too tall for these mid engine cars. The v12 ferraris are really the best sports cars if you're a taller person.

    Being a dedicated owner who likes to keep his cars in mint condition and actually likes going above and beyond when it comes to maintenance, I very much welcome this Ferrari new program. I think it's a plus for the current and future owner of any given Ferrari. A customer, any customer, likes being valued and rewarded for his/her loyalty, namely in such a competitive economic environment, in which any client has several different ways to spend his/her dollar.

    I very seldomly bring the car to the dealer just for oil and filters. I enjoy buying and adding carbon fiber bits to the car and/or learn more about different Ferrari services.

    However, I think other Ferrari models should be considered eligible for the program. I understand the value of setting a given timeline (20 years for instance): it may bring a lot of owners with older cars that turn to other specialists to maintain them (because they're out of warranty or whatever reason), and that might be a big piece of the action that official dealers are missing.

    But owning a 458 and considering buying more modern Ferraris (post 458), and having spent 5 figures in maintaining my 458 not once or twice, I feel left out and off the top of my head I don't see an insurmountable reason why this program couldn't be adapted to include more modern cars.

    I agree, I think any programme that allows an owner to benefit in any way, even small, as a reward for doing the right servicing is a good idea. Yes, of course Ferrari makes money on the servicing, and why on earth would they set this scheme up to add value for their dealerships and then allow indie shops to do the work and have a certificate? How would ferrari know it’s been done to their standards - it may well be, but ferrari train their own techs, so have the liability regardless of whether it’s done right or wrong, so they can back it as they are liable regardless, indie shop techs may be trained by Ferrari in some cases, but Ferrari don’t actually know that the job is done right, and aren’t going to accept that liability for someone else’s work.

    Please gus, remember, if Ferrari make money, they have more to invest in bringing us the very best cars in the world.... if that means servicing our cars correctly but through dealerships, some will nd some won’t, but it doesn’t change the fact it’s a nice scheme

    Nuno - Thank you for your honest feedback. I feel that once this program is in place and operational , that more cars will be added to the list. I think they had to start somewhere and hopefully the program will grow!

    Sid - Thank you for your reply as well. Ferrari is giving dealerships discounts on the parts , which in turn are passed on to the end user ( owner ) We reduce our labor as well to be competitive with local shops. Our pricing often comes out even or slightly better ( not always ) not to mention the 2 year parts and labor warranty on most work!

    There are many amazing technicians out there , not only the ones trained by Ferrari SpA directly, but I think you hit the nail on the head with your comments.

    I have only ever used my Ferrari dealer for works over the 15 years of buying super cars and exotics, they are a family run concern even now, and they always make sure the bill is palatable. I’ve always worked on the basis that if I can’t afford the proper servicing then I can no longer afford the car! Truth is I’ve been pretty lucky with no major issues rally, save a radiator on a 599 that developed a split. That was covered by a good warranty though so even then I managed to only pay 20% of the cost!

    I even have them service every other marque I’ve owned from Maserati to Bugatti, and never a problem. My Bentley will be there next month!

    It's not about " doing this " , its more about getting " credit " for what you are already doing.

    For example, when you replace your water pump, you get " credit "for doing it in the program. You also get discounted pricing on the repair.
    or when you have your annual service performed, you get credit and work done at discounted rate.

    When the list of items is completed ( on your own timeline ) a certificate is generated.

    There is no cost to be in the program itself.

    Sounds like a gimmick to me, that only proves someone overpaid for parts and service, not necessarily that a better car is ensured. For example, If someone at some point deviated from the scheduled belt change, I don’t think that means it’s a neglected car. The most recent service is the one I care most about. These cars sit a long time, whether in a dealership showroom or a garage.

    I won’t be participating in it, either as an owner or buyer.

    If I see a car with a premium certificate vs one worked on by an indy, that used the same but non-Ferrari labelled parts ie Bosch, or any number of brake companies etc or superior parts ie Hill Engineering, i won’t value the certified car more.

    I just see it as a no-cost reward for having authorized service done. It doesn't mean you can't go to tuners or independents for other things.

    Well, there are benefits to having a Ferrari Certified Master Mechanic work on your car. Some judge those benefits to be worth the price, others don't. Your money, your car.

    You can be bitter , you can not participate , you can express how much you hate the system, it ok.

    Doesn't make it a gimmick any more than it makes it a value adder. ( Our individual opinions )

    Outside of Ferrari Chat and/or Ferrari Club of America , there are a large number of owners that appreciate the program. I just thought I would share information for members here that would appreciate it. So that later a member doesn't wonder why no one told them about the program.

    Everyone has their opinion , for those that want to take advantage of it they can, for those like you that don't want to, don't.

    Laugh all you want , there is no cost to enroll.

    You spent the money with your independent shop... or you spend it with a Ferrari Dealer ... either way you spent the money.

    And you are correct, Ferrari is absolutely adding value for an owner doing business with them. ie rewarding them.

    i kind of like it, especially for anniversary years. i use 2 independants due to where my cars are located but this year my 360 CS turns 15 and my 612 OTO turns 10, so this wld be a year where i find the program interesting. Both are routinely serviced by my independents but every 5 years i take them to the dealer just to check that box and sometimes its helpful to have a different set of eyes look at the car. Also when buying one of these models i'd do a deal pending the car went through a program, so it actually becomes a nice negotiating tool when buying cars from private owners.

    lets face it, buying any new car is gimmicky. But God i'm guilty as charged!
