Hello guys, Now the Christmas holidays are over it's time to start plannng for this summer (September or so)! Do any of you guys have nice suggestions as to where to go in southern Europe as far as Ferrari-related destinations are concerned? Monaco is obvious, as is Maranello. I might end up in those places anyway, but where to go in Switzerland for instance? What about Austria, France, Spain perhaps? Looking to hearing from you soon! All ideas are welcome. Gr. Modena Trackdays should be at the the Nurburgring GP track - a bit earlier than you asked though, probably in July (can't find an exact date for 2009). Which kills 2 birds with one stone, because you've got the Nordschleife right there too (semi Ferrari related). As for September or so, Ferrari Racing Days
Switzerland around the Lac Leman ( meer van Genève). Lots of posh places there, no events that I know of but great scenery to drive and lots of Ferraris near Montreux, St Prex, Laussane and much more. Houdoe, Michiel
I suggest Algarve and then south of Spain. Can't go wrong if you want sand and sun! Great value. Stopping off in Lisboa, Estoril and area doesnt hurt either Let me know how the new Portimao track is if you go! They are testing F1 there now and possibly doing the Moto GP there I believe.
I was allready plannng to go there in June Ferrari Racing Days may be nice to start with though. Thanks Michiel. Used to go there on holidays some 15 years ago. Never forger there was a tiny garage near the lake where all sorts of Ferraris were maintenanced. Thanks! Is there anything happening at the Estoril track? Gr. Martin
Hi Martin. Yes, try here http://www.circuito-estoril.pt/ not the best looking site but works. Also google would have more obviously. Research Estoril, Sintra, Cascais (Ie: Costa do Sol). The whole area is very special and definetly worth the trip. I am happy to call it my second home. There is everything from great beaches, Casino, hotels, food and everything else. It's considered the French Riviera of Portugal. I could go on forever. Feel free to pm anytime.
Switzerland may be nice http://www.autogespot.com/zoeken/item/1377/carugati-en-lamborghini-dealer-in-geneve/ http://www.autogespot.com/zoeken/item/663/trip-to-geneve/ Gr. Martin
hi martin happy new year to you, if you are near my city let me know, i know it 's not the place where you can see a lot of exotics but on your way to spain...(we have a ferrari dealer in montpellier) i will be in barcelona for the F1 GP in may herve
Hello ! In your way to Monaco, you could stop in Aix-en-Provence. Very nice region and city. And many Ferraristi w/ very secial cars to meet.
Many Ferraristi and special cars? Such as a 1980 BB? Sounds good! Any regular meetings over there? Gr. Martin
After having visited Maranello, go south. Abetone and then Tuscany. No meetings there, but some f the most beautiful street in the world. Ciao Eugenio P.S. Unless you like to drive inside very restrictive speed limits, avoid Switzerland...
At the end of May, we have the 100GT on Dijon-Prenois track. At teh beginnig of May there will be a Rallye w/ 100 Ferraris ending in Aix-en-Provence... So, I need to know your dates to check what interesting things you could reach. As regards the interesting cars down there, be sure that my BB will the LESS interesting one... Believe me.
hello BB When in may does this event takes place as i live not too far from Aix, maybe i can come to see it
Marbella (Puerto Banus) is a must. Lot's of Lambo's, Ferrari's and other cool cars.. Some Zonda's and Koenigseggs frequently visit also.
Spanje niet vergeten. Bij Dirk in Marbella is ook genoeg te zien. Hij is te bereiken in zijn kantoor. Gr. Joost
Haha, Marbella dacht ik te bewaren voor een volgend F-Chat tripje Als we daar dan toch zijn maken we er 'Just another day at the office' van! Gr. Martin
Great idea with this thread! Talk to some people I got to know who organize trips to the best places. German Autobahn high speed, the Alps, Monaco, Toscany, combined with great food& hotels - and race track... The company is called carficionado in the South of Germany. You can easily find them on the internet. For overseas guests I think that is the best option, since finding the best & "real" places (and roads!!!) is not really easy! May spring time come soon to let the Ferraris free again.
I will check their website for sure. Google also gave me some links for Cigaraficionadas, not very different from a car aficionado I think. The website sounds like an excellent opportunity, especially for people from overseas, to 'do' Europe. Unfortunately I still need suited car to do the Alps. Gr. Martin
From 07th May 2009 through 10th May 2009 : Rally gathering 100 Ferraris from Ardeche to Aix-en-Provence (France)
Sounds like a great event! 'Unfortunately' I will leave for Italy the week after, along with 19 other Dutch F-Chatters. So it might be a bit too much. Is there a website..? Gr. Martin
