In the interest of humor, after browsing the replica watch thread I thought it might be interesting to call out all owners of Ferrari replicas that also wear fake watches.

As you may know, I've been exhausted (but entertained) by all the Ferrari wannabe-dreamers and could use a good chuckle.

Please post your photos of your prized replica car and watch.

I have owned a fake Ferrari and a fake Ferrari watch a one point. But I'm not sure I qualify because at the same time I also owned a real Ferrari and a real Ferrari watch.

Still don't know why that is so humerous.

BTW: Spotting a fake Ferrari is a lot easier than spotting a fake Ferrari watch. Particularly when they come from the right places. Any cruise ports in Turkey (e.g. Bodrum or Kusadasi) have shops specialized in fake watches (they even say so on the front). You can get anything you ever dreamed of. Even or particularly super rare collectors pieces. I was in a shop looking for Panerai Ferrari watches (they had plenty of those) where they also for instance offered the Juan Pablo Montoya F1 collectors watch. All copied to the very last details. Complete with "certificates of authenticity" and all. And no cheap quartz movements but real mechanical movements. Open backs you name it.

I've searched for Ferrari watches before. Concluded why not purchase the finest watch from the best timepiece maker instead of the ruler of sports cars, etc. I have probably 15 watches I wear regularly. They are all the real deal.

I have a real Ferrari, but I do have one fake watch. It was a gift from my wife - she was misled into believing it was the real deal. So, you know what - I wear it. I dont care that its a knock-off - it was a gift from the woman who means the most in my life. She knows its a fake now as well, but its the sentiment behind it that has made me hold on to it.

If I got an offer on it I do have my wifes permission to sell it in order to get the real deal. It is a nice automatic that keeps good time and looks good too. But I dont care if it sells or not.

    Andreas,

I'm sure you know that people that make posts like that are overly impressed with themselves. Probably 'Nouveau Riche' and wants to flaunt it.

Someone who calls others "wannabe-dreamers" is usually a "wannabe-dreamer too!!!!

    Sparky

P.S. If he wasn't interested in replica watches and Ferraris himself, why would he be perusing those threads????

Surely there is at least 1 Fchatter with photo of himself with replica F-car and watch (any fake watch will do)?

    Be proud!

I no longer have the car but I still have the fake Daytona watch. The car was easy to spot, the watch isn't. I don't ever wear it. It is simply a novelty item. As is the fake Monet painting in my bathroom. :)

I'm not out there to impress anybody. I'm much more interested to see where the lines between reality and fiction blur. With cars this is difficult but with watches it is relatively easy (as it is with art). What I learn from this is that designer watches really don't have much justification beyond their brand/marketing value.

+1, a Timex can keep better time and last longer than a Rolex etc.

Yes, I have a few high-end watches but rarely wear them. My insulin pump has a time stamp and I always wear it!

Why are you so insistent on seeing photos of any knockoffs(watches, cars etc); are you looking to find the best replica to buy?

Read the OP. I need a good laugh.

There's a "crappy replicas" thread so I though I could flush out a few Ferrari-watch-replicants.

Wrong Section, we cover watches in "Collectibles"....lots of threads there on the Cartier licensed ones, and all the knock offs of that series..........interesting in post above they have done the same with Paneri..

Someone with BOTH replicas of car AND watch is probably over on BentleyChat, with all the money he saved.......

Hey BT. No, I meant to include both the Ferrari-replicas with the fake watches. In other words, I was hoping that an owner of both fake car/watch would post their pics!

The reason you're not getting the desired response from your Pavlov dogs is, that your attitude indicates you're not really interested in seeing replica watches but want to have a nasty laugh at them.

I could show some pics of mine, but I know what guys like you would say: Oh, that's a fake, I can spot a mile away. Where in reality you couldn't.

I've seen the same thing with absolutely perfect recreations of Ferraris where the purists (I won't mention any names but they know who they are) scream fake even if we'd show them a picture of a real car telling them it is a replica.

Watches are even easier to replicate. And a still picture won't even show a quartz movement (although that is the tell tale sign of any cheap Rolex imitation). But once you are willing to pay a few hundreds of $$$ for a replica, the quality matches the original. The rest is paying for the brand.

I remember my wife and I at a beach where her real Cartier caught water and my fake Rolex was doing just fine. That just underscored my belief that an expensive watch is best left at home for collectors and disposable ones can travel.

......I've dated hot, young golddiggers who demand that I buy them Louis Vuitton, Louboutin, Gucci, etc....even a girl that demanded a $30,000 engagement ring!! I would rather buy them fake stuff since I'm not into materialistic golddiggers.

They've all come and gone after I offered to buy them fake stuff. <sigh>

But fake Ferraris and Rolexes for me? You gotta be fkn kidding! Hahahahah!!!

I really don't follow the whole collectors watch scene, but I have kept track of most of the kit car builders offering Ferrari-replicars. Due to some aggressive cease-and-desist letters from Ferrari, most have folded up shop.

Here's a short list of the memorable ones:

    McBurnie (or similar) Daytona Spider
Alpha GTO (240Z converted into a GTO)
Mera (Fiero converted into a 328)
Misc companies selling body kits to convert a Camaro or Firebird into a Testarossa
    MR2-to-355 conversion

Can you think of any others? I'm drawing a blank on the remaining tasteless re-creations!

By your posts no one would know it. Are you sure all of the "I've dated hot, young golddiggers who demand that I buy them Louis Vuitton, Louboutin, Gucci, etc....even a girl that demanded a $30,000 engagement ring!! " aren't just figments of your obvious delusional monomania!!!!
