Ferrari have extended the contracts of their test drivers Marc Gene and Luca Badoer for another season.

A spokesman for the Italian team confirmed that both drivers will remain with them throughout 2009.

Badoer originally joined Ferrari in 1997 and worked with them during their many title success with Michael Schumacher. Gene came onboard at the end of 2004, having been a test driver for Williams.

I can understand them keeping Badoer, but when was the last time Gene tested the car?

I guess with the limited days of testing now having a backup test driver makes sense. Wouldn't want to waste that day if someone was in an accident early in the morning etc. (im assuming Gene still goes to the test days even if he doesn't drive).

Anyway they been doing a great job!
