I’m very very impressed, lovely, classy looking GT, reminiscent (save the engine) of the Daytona. I’d love one, I have to say. As others have said, shame it’s not a V12, but if it was, it may we’ll take customers from 812 with its more gentlemanly looks

I wonder why now EVERYBODY puts shields on a Ferrari. Back in the day only the works team had the Right to wear them. Then only on some very special models: GTO, F40...

Now people puts them just because of the resale value.

I gave it a 7 because I would prefer the top down aspect of the Portofino. So, for those who don't like convertibles, it would probably rank higher.

...and with a V12 this would be a perfect 10.

Solid 8, but probably a little higher. Got my attention immediately.

I got roasted yesterday for saying it was bland and the grill was ugly. I stand by it. There is simply no Ferrari "wow" to it at all. No magic. No mystique.

Ferrari has not made anything I'm interested in since the Speciale. They can keep it.

I give it a 9 maybe better from the initial looks .. I really like it and I also like the idea of small seats in the back like the 911 it makes for a good place to put stuff on a trip or out for the day..

Intriguing how divergent opinions like this are.
This is exactly why Ferrari or any other car manufacturer does what they feel will benefit the company and will appeal the most to the demographic they are marketing to.
They accept the fact that they can not please everyone.

No. People don't put shields on the fender because of resale value. They put them on to show the rest of the world that they have a Ferrari. Pure EGO, nothing else. Status symbols...……..

If someone doesn't recognise a Ferrari by it's shape (and the rest of the Cavallinos front and back), why would they recognise it by the wing shields?

7 out of 10 for me

I like the concept of a GT car not about Fiorano lap times and crazy aero, & who wouldn't welcome some touches from the older era of Ferrari. But the design lacks some of that uniquely Ferrari panache that makes a Ferrari a Ferrari IMO based on what I've seen so far online

Whether because of the no shields + touch digital interior, silhouette of the car close to Ftype/AMG GT/Astons etc, I personally have a hard time finding unique aspects of the exterior or interior to write home about

I'm sure when I see one in person it will be stunning, no doubt about that, but will I right away sense that "this is a Ferrari"

this sure was the case for me

A Ferrari has to have the shields IMO, when in Rome kind of thing. Little touches like that which harken to F1 and many legendary cars, why not get that touch on your very own Ferrari and have that imaginary connection :)

For the Roma I was even envisioning what painted shields might look like

It takes a lot for me to go higher than 8. I cant even remember the last production car Id vote a 10. Maybe the BMW Z8.

I would like to see a Roma next to a 456...

I fell in love with the 456 when it came out. I was a broke grad student, so no hope I'd ever own one. Made a road trip out of seeing the first one that was on a showroom floor in Texas, which was the dealership in Plano. Years later, after many unexpected twists and turns, I got a 456M as my first Ferrari. Felt good. :)

That car was a Daytona in 2+2 guise for the modern age. Still so beautiful. I feel similarly about the Roma. It's a beautiful 2+2 I could go on adventures with.

An even more elegant update, IMO. The only problem I have is, that the premier 2+2 should have an NA V12. Let's hope they make that in the upper range.

For me looks wise it’s a 6. Looks too much like an Aston. Hate the front.

I hate the front as well...

Not sure what I dislike more... the odd-looking laundry basket grill,... the chickenwire sub-grill grate... or the oversize from chin plate.

    Overall... 7

Not sure why anyone would want this over an F8...

as for 2+2... what is sitting in the back? A yorkie??

Thanks G. Pepper, interesting to see them next to each other: even next to the best 2+2 design ever (your stunning 456!)... the Roma looks strikingly good... didn’t expext that!

But the comparison also reveals something else a lot of people mentioned: while the 456 ‘breaths Ferrari’ from every angle... the Roma doesn’t... though I keep my final judgement after seeing a Roma ‘in the flesh’!
