So, is the bump on the roof going to be on all UK cars? I’ve put a deposit down, but haven’t finalised the spec yet. That unsightly bump might be a deal breaker for me.

All cars from what I heard!
I’ve sent an email to flavio Manzoni @ Ferrari who knows if it will get through but we should make a big deal about this. I’m thinking of canceling also. ask your dealer I’d like to know.

Those must be prototype cars without Nav!
Dealers are telling me all cars have this bump on top . Never seen something that out of place on a car

    Just musing here.

I don’t mind the barnacle on top since it is the location for the nav/Xm/fm antenna mounts.

However I’m pretty sure they could incorporate them into the rear third brake lite on the back and have pretty close to the same efficacy as what they have...

    just sayin’.

Totally! Many cars do it. Just seems so odd they would choose to put the barnacle right in the main curve of the car so visible that your eye is always drawn to it.
Seems like some retro fit at the last minute.
    Not thought through

UK dealer demonstrators have started to arrive and this is a photo of Charles Hurst Belfast's car from their Instargram page. It does not have the roof aerial so it looks like it is possibly a US market related item.

I haven't seen a car with that roof mount aerial. I seem to recall discussions several years ago around similar aerials on other marques of car in the US that were not fited to European markets and the reason was these units are required for Sirius satellite radio reception across the US. The antenna for the nav is usually fitted on the windshield top centre along with the rain sensor.

I suspect hiding the roof mount aerial components comes down to cost. Each manufacturer decides how to handle for each model. In the cheaper Mercedes their is a roof mount. The folding top SL I have, has no roof mount or a lump on the trunk. All comes down to economics.

If you look at other US Ferrari models such as the Pista, 812 and Portofino the “bump” is on all those cars. Not sure what the big deal is. You never see it when your driving and listening to the music from the engine!

They replied today, and said that they haven’t received any updates related to an antenna being fitted. They are unsure. Said that their demonstrator arrives next week, and will advise if it has one or not. If it doesn’t, I will ask for re-assurances from Italy that UK production cars won’t have one, before confirming order.

In reply to another recent post, if you look at photos online the 812 does have the “bump” on US cars, but not on British cars. Strange.

I haven’t minded the Sat/Radio ant bump in any of my cars, I just see it as a necessary evil, but I do really hate the required bumper warts on the US models. Maybe if they were able to incorporate them better to look like aero winglets on the diffuser they would not look so out of place compared to the other clean lines. At least I live in a state without front license plates, they can be tragic to a car’s front end!

For about the same cost as the factory's worthless hi-fi option,I had an expert body shop remove that lump and five other items from my Portofino's body as well as paint the front fender vents body color.

I had the same aversion to this bump when I ordered by 458 years ago. Back then if you chose to not have navigation and Sirius XM (us car) which I did you didn’t get the ‘bump’. Since then I tried to do the same on F12 and Pista was told that it wasn’t possible to remove those options or the bump anymore for US cars, this was including going through Tailor Made for the Pista. Agree that is it annoying and breaks up the lines. Given all the connectivity and media provided via smartphones these days, makes me wonder why the don’t allow you to delete all this stuff and just get connectivity though your phone? Even Sirius Xm has an app you can stream from your phone.

While I don’t like the wart, it’s not something I’ll lose sleep over.

Much more concerned about customs keeping my car for weeks!
