I use my Portofino as my daily drive. Why have a nice car if you are not going to enjoy it! We get a bit of snow and ice here in The Netherlands but not much. It is cold and very wet in the winter however. I put on winter tyres December to March. It makes a huge difference. We had a cold snap when I still had my summer tyres on and the tyres were too hard for slow turns. They did not hold the road and you could hear them bouncing. No problem with winter tyres. I "borrow" the wife's car when there is snow or ice and then get told off for buying such a stupid car I do wash the car often to remove the salt and grit.
Anyone buy an extended warranty? Mine expires next week, the quote was high for one year extension but I don’t have any repair costs as reference. Does anyone know how much it costs to replace a transmission as an example?
Thanks, I was quoted $7.7k plus tax for one year. Pretty steep but I don’t have a frame of reference for any major repairs. There was a guess that to replace the transmission would be $40-50k. That seems like a lot but would validate the warranty cost I guess…..
IMHO ,it’s better to buy the 2 year vs 1 year. Reason I bought mine was because I’m going to keep the car another 2 years. And if I decide to sell , I sure my car will sell well because of the warranty which is transferable. Ps. Used 5k of my warranty for a new passenger display that crapped out.
I would definitely do it if I was keeping it for sure but my 296 is supposed to be here in the summer and I think I’ll be trading the Roma.
Agree. I did pass on the GTS I was offered as it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I decided to keep my F8s which I will be extending the warranty on next month as it’s been 3 years. Can’t believe how quickly time flys by.
Ferrari Roma : One of One Tailor-Made (Amaranto Bull Lea exterior with ball-polished forged wheels, Black Connolly + Grey Mohair Donhia interior)
Hey it's those tailor made guys and girls horsing around again with another thoroughbred name. In any event a beautiful result there, they have created! Who says they don't know their Ferrari history anymore; but with a little help...
Have a carbonio clip on front license plate holder which acts as scrape guard too! Quite worn I should add. SV
Don't you also have alluminio lucido paint? Someone was considering that color; how do you like the color after spending with it?

Indeed. Yes. Love the color! Also now have a 296GTB in the same color! Really flattters the design lines more than just about anything! Changed up the interior a bit between them. SV
Does aluminio luccidio pull more gold? I have it spec'd on my Roma Spider and saw it in person on a Roma (loved it, obviously!) but was under fluorescent light so couldn't tell. Your photo looks like it has gold tones, whereas others I have seen online are more solid silver. Thanks!
It is a warm silver. Gold flakes mixed in. Tends to reflect environment around it. Blue sky, gold sunsets and green grass will show in the reflections. Plus it shows the design lines very well!
