I need to get my hands on that grill! I'll make a polished metal replacement for it similar to the older cars. Bet I'll sell them faster than I can make them.
My first thought was of a facelifted Jaguar F-Type (which is not negative, because I like the Jag, although it's of course in a different category than any Ferrari).
Yes!!! I've been trying to put my finger on it, but that's exactly it to my eyes. It's awful IMO. Going to need some judicious color choice to unsee that. The interior is everything I dislike about the 991 and later generation 911s, looks more like it belongs in a modern luxo-barge SUV for soccer moms, not an Italian sports car. T
I want to thank all of you Roma haters for making my morning. I had a lot of good laughs. No Ferrari DNA? Looks like an Aston? Give me a break. It reminds me of a 612 in profile, especially the proportions. Good to see Ferrari ditching the row of LED's above the headlights, which never looked good. Now they have an elegant and smooth GT design again. Agree the color matched grill is weird, though, so I wouldn't color match it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’m afraid ferrai, with its new gen, more tech, less sound is losing me... Hopefully the driving experience is still there but to me nothing beats a 355, Testarossa or something older. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sound of 355? turbo cars will never sounds like this, I think that was mistake to use turbo, Ferrari could build very Fast cars with NA V8.
In case you all missed it, that grill can be optioned in other colors besides body color. If you watch the end of Shmee's video, he shows the gray car with a silver grill. Looks nice. My thoughts on the body colored grill are that it will certainly work for some colors, and that it may appeal to those who think Tesla's body colored false grills look good!
have to give them credit. could've just gone the easy way and taken away the portos movable roof but this is a different car. not for me but good job Ferrari. I would've like it to be a more performance variant. like what a pista was to 488 instead of luxury oriented but they know what theyre doing
Reading this thread this morning gave me a good laugh. All the people knocking the car for looking too much like a jag or Aston are cracking me up. Definitely one of the sillier (to put it euphemistically) things I’ve heard in a long time. In case any of you missed it, some of the most highly regarded Ferrari designs of all time were created back in the 1960. Go take a look at any of those cars (I’m talking 250, 275, 330 etc) and tell me with a straight face that they don’t look similar to a Jag E Type or Aston DB_ from that era.... You’d have to be smoking crack not to think the 250 GTO looks a little like an E Type. Yet I have never heard someone make that comment. Not even once. The point is, good design is good design. Name any car on the planet and I can ream off a list of several cars that look similar. But it doesn’t matter. Not one bit. ****, I’d rather new Ferrari’s be compared to good looking Aston’s and Jags than the typical Corvette/Camaro BS we usually hear about when a new F car is released. And to the point that the Roma doesn’t “look like a Ferrari,” once again I will point back to the 250 GTO. Paint it silver, get rid of the shields and slap a jaguar on the hood and I guarantee 99% of the general public couldn’t tell you the difference. Just another silly observation that has nothing to do with the successful implementation of the Roma’s beautiful design. Of course, you don’t have to like. Looks are subjective. It’s also totally fine to point out that the new car has some similarities with Jag/Aston because, to be fair, it does. I just can’t wrap my head around why this should be considered a bad thing? Its good looking alright, but those headlights need to be shortened and made less conspicuous. Very tight greenhouse and nicely blended side crease. The front does look a bit generic like the Mazda is, but don't go overboard on the grill like alot of other lesser companies seem to do(BMW/Lexus ect.). Maybe they should go more rounded on the front grill and frontend, retro 1966/67 GTB4.
Really love the rear, outstanding. The rest is OK for me, I could live with the grille. Front wheel arches a bit too thick, bulky, they shoud be sleeker (less body height above front wheels). Also it could use some sort of side vent, hey we're not used to such plain sides.

Sooo.... Ferrari made an Aston Martin. Maybe 007 can use one in the next Bond movie. After all, the next Bond is supposed to be a girl so, why not? The interior looks a lot like my old Maserati Cambiocorsa. Sort of like they took that look and updated it. I like the look, love the grill. But is it special?
