    Took my stock black roof from the GTS in today to have painted red to match the car. An hour later the paint guy calls and says "your roof is red under the black"--I said that can't be because from the factory there are black. Sure enough went back to the bodyshop and he had taken Lacquer thinner and removed all the black paint to reveal beautiful red paint under it.

    I guess someone along the way had bought the car had the roof painted to match then eitherrepainted it black or sold it to someone else who painted it black .

    Anyway he wet sanded the roof down and buffed it out--Holy smoke it turned out just like it was sprayed yesterday. Great shine and gloss.

    From $250 to have it painted to $40 to the porter to wet sand it and buff.

    Yes, when I took delivery of the car last year it had the red painted roof. I tried to get used to it for a while but I just couldn't. I had a friend paint it a matte black. The grain was gone from the roof so I couldn't bring the original texture back. I guess it worked out pretty well for you though. ;)

    have to mention, obviously a good honest painter, he coudl have easily said nothing to you and pocketed the money, good to see honest people out there

    How dare he change his own car!!!! I'm surprised he drives it at all. These beautiful, delicate machines melt in rain and rot in direct sunlight!

    maybe if you wet sanded the rest of the car there may be a f40 under it ...

    Give me a break ya bastards! I didn't like the look of the red roof and that was as close to original as I could get it! It didn't look bad.
