    Hello all,

I may be purchasing a 348 in NJ and driving it home to Florida. I'm hoping to drive straight through but if I decide I'm to tired to make it... does anyone know of a decent hotel where it would actually be safe to park the car over night? I'll be taking 95 the whole way.

    Thanks,
    Ben

Most 5 and 4 diamond hotels would be good to go in my experiance. But I live in Raleigh and also in the NC mountains so I actually dont know any hotels at all on 95.

I've traveled a lot with mine and haven't really worried about it. I look for a parking space that's off by itself or inconvenient for others, and I cover the car once it's cooled down for the night. If you have time, buy the custom cover and take it with you on the trip to pick it up. If not, just go by Pep Boys or Autozone or something and get a generic cover for $50.

Even my Diablo has spent the night at humble Sleep Inns when necessary... :)

Wingate Inn's are pretty good if you want a comfortable stay , which is a safe hotel and save some money too. I would also go with the Hilton Hotels, Wyndam Hotels, Courtyard Marriotts. The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Savannah-Conf Center @ I-95 is a pretty nice hotel.
I've actually had a few Ferrari's stay at my hotel including a 360 Modena Silver Coupe w/ GA tags on it not to long ago. The hotel I manage isn't the greatest hotel and im even next to a big Truck Stop but it's not even close I-95.

My ideal place would be a larger hotel with an "overhang" outside the front desk and a friendly desk staff that would be kind enough to let me leave it there while I grab 5 or 6 hours of quick sleep..

Guys, it's still a Ferrari! There are quite a few people who wouldn't know the difference between any Ferrari model ... all they know is the prancing horse. People will park next to it so they can casually gawk at it while they get out of their car. There have been people in the past who have had their Ferraris scratched or have had badges stolen off the car. In general I have found that people have been very respectful and are afraid to get too close ... however it doesn't take more than one person to cause costly damage.

If the hotel has a parking garage, I try to pick a spot far up and out of the way since fewer people will go that high or far. If it is in open lot, I pick a remote location that is preferably visible from the room. It's best to cover it so people don't really know what's under there (be sure to make the cover droop over the wheel centers as well). If neither of the two options above are possible, I prefer to park in an area that gets a good amount of foot traffic so that a would-be punk might be scared to harm the car where someone might see him.

Of course, no method is foolproof. I've personally never had any damage.

so they should let you leave it in front of the hotel and inconvience other patrons just becasue you have a ferarri. What a cock head way to think.

I'm not sure how it inconviences anyone. It's something pretty common that hotels will do If you ask nicely. They do it quite often for high end motorcycles as well or anyone with a decent reason. The point is NOT to be a "cock head" as you seem to think everyone is but simply ask. Any time I have ever had a legitamate reason my request is almost always granted. Same goes for restaurants etc. So you think every Ferrari owner is a "cock head" when they go to Ferrari club dinners at and the owner sets up special parking right up front for those that attend. I think you typed before you really thought....

I have a favorite lodging in St. Augustine, but I'm guessing you won't be interested in stopping that close to home.

NJ To Tampa is a lengthy distance...You will certainly need to stop. First, get a car cover, then plan ahead. I can tell you that there is not too much between Florance,SC and Hilton Head,SC.
