The special limited edition book page assembly (that is diffrent from the standard one) arrived yesterday at Schedoni atelier for bounding, casing and branding with their leather: I will post some pictures of the tailoring process as soon as they will be available.

Schedoni is not cheap at all, but what he does is not bad at all too...

The special "Ferrari by Schedoni" limited edition book will be officially introduced at Padova fair "Auto-moto d'epoca" on Friday October 22, Padiglione 15, BBR Model stand, at 11.00 AM. It will be introduced by Simone Schedoni himself and me, the book author. There will be 141 numbered copies in English and 38 numbered copies in Italian: 141 as the years of Schedoni firm (since 1880) and 38 years since they started the partnership with Ferrari racing department, in 1983. That year was very important also because they abandoned the "Cuoio Designer Modena" and changed it into "Cuoio Schedoni Modena" brand, as Enzo Ferrari himself suggested to Mauro Schedoni. Those two numbers were chosen by Mr. Simone Schedoni himself, as a tribute to his family and to his beloved father Mauro, who started all the "Ferrari by Schedoni" story.

Is the leather edition printed on special paper different from the standard edition?

 

I've met that gentleman, December, 2019, just before covid hit, that's why he's not wearing a mask!

yes, of course: top quality patinated paper, as a 700 euro book handcrafted with Schedoni leather deserves.

Thank you very much, Alberto, for your explanations and the information provided. To be frank, I was not sure whether to order the limited edition at that price as I had heard about some shortcomings of the standard edition. But now, I have no doubt that the limited edition will be absolutely fantastic with all the improvements which you described in this thread and with the craftsmanship put into the leather livery and the box. I just ordered my copy and sent the deposit ;-)

It's really wonderful to be able to follow book production that close! And as I have catched a terrible flu and must stay in bed for several days, I am grateful to get some happiness from these lovely pictures. Production of my number 20 shouldn't be so far away ;-)

Did you specifically ask for #139 or was it given to you (which would mean that you got the last but two copy)?

 

I specifically asked for that number. In their 139th year at the FCA Annual Experience in 2019, I was awarded the first ever Schedoni Excellence Award by Simone Schedoni.
