Ultra-rare Ferrari Sells for $6.5 Million in Monaco

Shhh, don't tell the 99 percent: In Monaco, an ultra-wealthy buyer has ponied up just under $6.5 million for this 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider, one of only two ever built. The elephantine price tag also includes another engine -- a 2.5-liter four-cylinder mill originally meant for racing purposes. The original 3.0-liter V12 produces just 320 horsepower (which is 50 hp less than a modern Dodge Charger R/T selling for "just" $30 grand).

Getting over 100hp per liter back in the 50s is quite impressive!

GTOs change-hands for three- to four-times this amount, so this is nothing special. Those transactions don't get press-releases, although it has been documented that a Ferrari holds the record for highest price paid for an automobile. $35Million?
