What do you guys think of having a blog set up, everyone can set up an account, and just document all the silly glitchy things that happen with their f-cars.

People could keep track of what happens with their cars, for their own records, also, to share experiences with the community, as well as what was done to resolve certain problems

It would be searchable, so you can see what problems other owners with the same vehicle are having, the cost and methods to fix this problem... if someone comes up with a unique way of fixing a problem, or working around a problem, it could be posted.

After a while it would almost become a laymans tech support resource.

it would be a free service of course.... what do you think?

I think this is a great idea, and not one that should be limited to the 348/355 cars. Perhaps it should be set up as a database? I know nothing about setting something like this up, unfortunately, but do envision it as something that can be incorporated into ferrarichat for access. Perhaps limited to rosso/silver subscribed. Evertime someone has a service done, they enter it into the database...

How does this differ from what's already happening right here at fchat? People routinely post tech issues and solutions, and the forum is searchable

I know what you mean, but I think this would be a specific service.

I.e., I don't make a post each time I do an oil change. But, I might do that in this hypothetical database. And so would others, hopefully. If somone were interested in buying a 308 GT4, they could look at the service database, and see a number of 308 GT4's and basically all of their service records.

Over time, you could see, for instance, that everybody with a GT4 did a particular service for replacement of a doodad. Armed with that knowledge, a prospective shopper could see if this doodad was replaced on a car that he is considering.

Yes, to an extent, you might be able to find out the same type of information via a search of the forum, but this database could allow you to get more specific info.

For example, for each car, you could list mileage, service performed, cost, date performed, etc.

The only downside that I can see is that people may not update this regularly (I believe that I would, and probably several other f-chatters, but probably not most users.).

A blog is like a diary , in computer terms.
Its updated daily, or weekly etc etc.
