Another " where do you service your Ferrari and why " thread In doing some research, I would like to ask some input from Ferrari owners. What are the most important factors when you are considering getting service / repairs performed on your Ferrari / Maserati? For me quality of work is most important, regardless of pricing. I like to get to know the person(s) working with my vehicles. Now, don't get me wrong, money matters, but the price vs value matters even more. So , I don't mind paying more when I get piece of mind. I've made it clear in the past to the ASM and/or tech working on my cars that I drive ( really drive ) my cars... I don't want something going wrong at speed, or in the middle of a curve during a Sunday Morning Drive! And they get it. Newer cars usually goto the Dealership since they are have factory warranty. What about the cars that are out of warranty? Or have an aftermarket warranty? Why would you take your car somewhere else? I understand Norwood and James Patterson's following as well as the great guys at RAC and I think that's part of it, that you get to KNOW those guys, build a relationship with them.. but what else? Why did you go out looking in the first place? What is a dealership lacking that other independant shops can offer? For me: 1. Quality of repairs - Done right the first time 2. Relationship 3. Price Any input would be great, the more detailed the better. S
I think price is the main reason that Ferrari owners use independents. If price is no object, why wouldn't you use the dealership? It certainly looks better on the resale paperwork. The other factors are also important, you need to trust the person that's working on your car. To me, that puts relationship and quality of work on equal footing. You can't trust someone that does shoddy work. If they do amazing work but you feel like you're getting yanked around, it's also a problem.
