In the case of Bangle, was it for the better? I am not so sure.

I think Ferrari needs a new headlight design language, and actually out of the whole SF90, its the headlights that are my least favorite element. It's not even the stripes to the side, those are a bit of fun or a gimmick if you are not a fan. I'd like to see headlights that are even smaller- I know it doesn't have headlights, but like the openings on the P80/C. But then again, I don't know anything about car design nor aerodynamics

 

Personally I liked the "no-lights" approachment of the J50 (front) and Monza (rear).

 

And they need a new taillight design language as well, moreover they need to go back to pininfarina and get rid of Flavio Manzoni. Immediately!!

Stupid, click baiting article. They reference the headlights, but those were the Ferrari style headlights of that era. They also reference the P4/5, but that was based on the 1960s P series race cars.

Have you actually seen the care or are just pontificating your opinion based on photos.

I’ve seen the car in person and it looks great. The only thing I don’t like are the shark fin headlights but those could be muted in a darker color.

And pininfarina is dead. Get over it.

 

I would agree. The Pininfarina era came to an end. It was time for a change.
The ‘in house’ team is doing a fine job.

 

Totally agree. I don’t get this obsession with pininfarrina. Sure they designed some nice cars but Jesus there have been some gorgeous cars over the years that are not pininfarina.

 

The best elements of SF90's design are continuation of Pininfarina cues. The rest are freaky ones. That ends discussion about Pininfarina and SF Stradale

Please read the article. Ferrari explicitly states- pininfarina did NOT design the la Ferrari.

 

By that logic- every car is a Ford Model T

Sorry to go a little OT, but we now can compare what Pininfarina would do, as they have seemingly been given a free hand to show their design vision with their new car. I have seen it in person. I'm not a design expert- I was hoping to love it- to see something new and original. I am underwhelmed. For me, it comes off as derivative of several cars, most notable the LF, Pista, McLaren 720, and a bit of Pagani. I don't think there is anything iconic about it, I don't see it cutting a new design path. I realize the Pininfarina of today is very different from yesteryear. They had some truly incredible and iconic designs. They also had some misses. But, if we are going to compare FDC under Mr. Manzoni with Pininfarina, then we have to compare both today. And at that level, its clear to me at least, that Ferrari has made the right choice.
