O.K. next newbie question, I am about to purchase a used 1989 348TS near Atlanta. I am having it checked out by a Ferrari mechanic who I was sent to by Ferrari of Atlanta. If the car checks out it will be headed to Upstate N.Y. next week. The closest place for good service that I have found for this car is in Long Island. Do any of you know of any recommended shop or private mechanic closer to me? I am big on keeping up with service. --Mike
Mike, Congratulations! Have fun with it. I can't help with a mechanic upstate, but I'm just looking now for a car and I'm wondering which LI mechanic you're referring to. I hope to need one in the near future also. Thanks Brian
Hi Brian, Don't have one yet, but I'm very close. After looking at dozens of these cars I finally found one in NY that looks the part, has an owner who nows what he's talking about and has the records. I'm going to take a look this weekend. I was asking the question because I always like to have my ducks in a row so to speak. I would like to have the car go through a PPI and then I will need a place to have it serviced when needed. Upstate NY is a little lacking when it comes to very high end car service, unless you own a Porsche. I don't want to send it to a "We do all kinds of cars" place either . Oh, the car in Atlanta was a wash. The condition was way over billed. I walked away from it. --Mike
I think you will have no luck finding a ferrari mechanic upstate. We are located in long island as well.
It's appearing I may have to travel down to LI when I need service. It's not to long of a trip, I drive it 3 times a year anyway. --Mike
