Hot again? We’re not entirely sure what happened to this Ferrari 458 Italia, all we know is it is quite burnt. Only days after reports came through that a Ferrari 458 was spotted in France self-combusting, another one, also in France, seems to have ignited externally as well.

Should i wear my racing suit, glove and shoes before I take the 348 for a spin?

The 458 does not have a gas cap, so when it says in the manual "Do Not Over Fill" they really mean it.

On the gas flap door there is now a picture with a circle and slash through it of a guy standing in flames. Kinda looks like a guy standing in Hell. I think this is suppose to be the universal sign for "warning igore this and you and your car may burn up":)

Oh and fire extinguishers are on the option list of all the new cars.

if my car caught fire i would let it burn. i don't want to save the car and have it not be totaled.

I'd like to see this warning pictograph on the gas flap door. Anyone care to take and post a picture of it? Sounds pretty good.

Fire extinguishers should be in any car. Good , safe idea. Madderfac, lots of ideas on safety should be employed in cars. Cars are just dangerous.

Considering the amount made, this seems to be happening a little too often. I suspect it's only a matter of time before the govies step in and order an investigation and/or a recall. I can think of at least three that have burned already and the car just came out.

My car just burned, (gallardo) last month I put it out with a hose, as it caught on fire in my driveway when your car is on fire, are you going to open up the door and pull your extinguisher out? when there is so much smoke and heat you cant see and the car is hot? and how are you going to open the rear deck? I did open my deck, burned my hand, got a pipe to hold up the deck as the struts were burned and put it out before the FD got there..the car is still totalled but I didnt have to worry about my neighborhood catching on fire....so a fire extinguisher in the car in my case is worthless...unless its a system.
