Trying to remember what I've seen lately... Saturday, March 28th, in Charlotte: What looked to be a white Aston Martin DB9 at the intersection of Sharon Rd and Morrison Blvd at 12:10. Too far away to be sure though. Dark red Jaguar E-Type Coupe on Rea Rd at 12:20, heading north as I was driving to Motori Italiani. Black Rolls Royce Ghost and white Maserati GranCabrio at Rea Rd and Ardrey Kell Rd at 12:30. Spectating exotics at Motori Italiani from 12:30 to 2:30 included a white Rolls Royce Phantom Convertible, blue Bentley Flying Spur, black Aston Martin DB9 Volante, red Ferrari California T, silver Nissan GT-R, silver Rolls Royce Phantom, white Porsche 991 911 GT3, blue Dodge Viper GTS, and a ton of new Corvettes, Mustangs, and the like. Silver Bentley Continental GTC V8 at Sharon Rd and Fairview Rd at 4:45 or so. Tuesday, March 31st, in Charlotte: Black Rolls Royce Ghost on Tyvola Rd in front of FCI at 1:45. White McLaren MP4-12C at Dean & Deluca at 2:00 White Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore joined it a few minutes later. Blue Ferrari California drove past as I was snapping a few pics of the McLaren and Lamborghini. I was just able to get a decent enough pic to post on here, and it's attached at the bottom of this post. Yellow Ferrari F360 on Fairview in front of Whole Foods at 2:25 or so. Didn't see it in time to snap any pics. White Aston Martin DB9 Volante (or maybe Virage Volante) a minute or so later on Fairview. At the Three Rivers Porsche Club meeting Saturday at Pine Island, we saw a red 19M 430, a burgundy 458, a silver Porsche Carrera GT, and the belle of the ball, the new stunning yellow hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder.
Haven't seen much lately since driving back from Charlotte, but have seen a few unexpected cars at unexpected times. Thursday, April 2nd, in Richfield: Yellow Polaris Slingshot a few cars behind me on NC 49 near US 52. Don't remember what time, but it was in the afternoon. Wednesday, April 8th, in Raleigh/Cary: Saw the same Black Maserati GranCabrio in the doctor parking at Rex Healthcare on Cary Pkwy that I've seen a couple of times now. Caught a glimpse of a red Jaguar E-Type Coupe on Norwell Blvd at 1:30 or so. Black Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed on a flatbed truck on S. Saunders St at Ileagnes Rd at 5:00 or so. Wednesday, April 14th, in Garner: Black Maserati GranTurismo Sport at The Home Depot at Timber Dr and US 70 in the rain during the early evening.
Nice! There don't seem to be many Murcielagos in NC anymore. A couple of years ago I saw a gray LP640 in Cary, and a gray Roadster in Charlotte, but I'm pretty sure both have since been sold.
I'm not sure, but I suspect so, as there couldn't have been many gray LP640s in Cary. I saw it going in the opposite direction on Tryon Rd a couple years ago, right near Waverly Place. I got a decent pic of the front before it passed but didn't see the back. I heard the owner sold it about a year ago, and now he has that red 430 Scuderia I posted a couple pages back.
Nothing super rare today, but I did see a new gray C7 Corvette Z06 on Cary Pkwy near Fresh Market at about 6:15.
^ They did only make 48. It was white with white/black interior - white quilted leather with black piping and black carpets. Absolutely gorgeous. Also inside was piano black wood and engraved metal (aluminum I'm assuming?) What wasn't wood or metal was leather. The owner is a client of mine and let me take it for a spin. Not gonna lie - felt like a total BOSS cruising around Southpark in it. Sports cars are more my thing but this definitely had 'presence' and felt special - just as an exotic should.
Cool, cool. I've seen two white Mulsannes in Charlotte so far, though I don't think either was the same car (one had Georgia plates and was parked Uptown at a restaurant on Tryon St, and the other drive through the Providence/Queens Rd intersection plaza in Myers Park). I hope he lives in the Charlotte area; I'd love to see it one of these days! --------- Didn't want to make multiple posts, so here are some of the notable cars I saw yesterday while driving around. -Red older Ferrari, either a 308 or 328, on the back of a truck on I-77 heading north at about 11:40 outside of uptown. Also on the truck were two Bentleys, one of which looked to be a '50s model and the other a '90s model. -White Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore roared through the Sharon/Fairview Rd intersection at about 2:30, then pulled into Dean & Deluca at Phillips Place. Second time I've seen it there, driven by one of the Metrolina Auto Group guys. As I was snapping a few pics of it, one of the customers there said a white BMW i8 had been there right before the Lambo arrived. Also saw a ton of Quattroportes, but those are getting a bit too common to post now
Yep he's here in Charlotte - Southpark / Myers Park area. It only had about 3000 miles on it so it doesn't seem to get driven a lot, but odds are good that if you're here you'll see it.
After looking at pics of a Mulsanne Le Mans Edition, it looks like the one I saw at Queens/Providence Rd a couple months back might have been his. Didn't realize the Le Mans Editions had those wheels. Couple of sightings yesterday: Black Bentley Continental Supersports and white Nissan GT-R on Morehead St right near Kings Dr at 2:10. The Bentley was heading north and the GT-R south.
