Ferrari Sightings

That's odd... I live just south of the border and I see exotics or high dollar cars about once every few days or so. 521, especially through Ballantyne, seems to be a hot bed.

Now that Monte Carlo garages is open in Indian Land (see my post above, June 16), I expect to see even more.

 

Those garages are pretty nice. I went by and checked them out several months back. So I probably need to pay more attention on the roads trying to spot cars. Any noteworthy exotics you recall seeing offhand?

 

My exotic spottings have been chronicled here in the posts above. I moved to the Charlotte area from Vermont - so seeing a Ferrari down here once every couple of weeks is spectacular compared with the 'one-every-18-months-or-so-with-Quebec-plates' that happened up there.

I've seen McLarens, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris all over town, but most commonly in Uptown, South Park, Ballantyne, and the 521 corridor. I also frequent Cars & Coffee, so I frequently see the same cars there that I've spotted on the roads.

 

Saturday, July 21st, in Raleigh:
-Rosso 360 Modena with black F430 wheels outside of the Capital Grill around 10 pm. Had a gated manual.

I don't make it down to Charlotte as often as I used to (I have family there), but I've seen a ton of nice cars around the city over the years. The most notable exotics I can recall seeing include a silver 918 Spyder twice in Southpark, a white Aventador SV in South End, a matte yellow Aventador SV in South End (it has also shown up at a few cars shows in Charlotte), a white Countach LP5000 QV in South End, a burgundy 365 GTC/4 in Ballantyne, several regular Aventadors and 458s, a couple of GT3/RSs, F12s, and 488s, lots of California/Ts, Gallardos, and Huracans, and a bazillion R8s, i8s, GT-Rs, etc. I generally don't bother mentioning Astons, Bentleys, Maseratis, and Rolls-Royces on here because I see like 20+ a week combined, at least in Charlotte. You mentioned that you have an F12? A couple years ago I saw a red one in Southpark, any chance that was you?

 

There have been a few 918s spotted around town.

Grey Mondi Cab at Whole Foods on Six Forks around noon yesterday.

 

Forgot to post this. Well-specced 650S Spider with a child passenger seat in Glenwood South in Raleigh on 7/27 around 9pm. Hope the owner got out there before the rain started a little while later. Pretty sure I saw a 570 of some sort the next night (7/28) in Garner at Timber and 50 around 10:30 pm as well, but I only got a brief glance.

Also seen numerous Astons, Bentleys, and the like around Cary over the past week or so. @birdie999 there are a decent number of Charlotte area Fchatters on here, they just don't post very often.

 

8/7 in Cary: white 991.2 GT3 on Kildaire Farm near Tryon about 6:15p.

8/10 in Raleigh: grey new R8 V10 Plus cruising around North Hills, as well as a black Phantom parked a couple cars behind a black Wraith at The Capital Grill around 6:30p.

 

8/17 in Cary: saw what looked to be a white BMW i8 Roadster several cars in front of me on Cary Pkwy right near High House around 3pm.

 

Sunday morning 8/19 at 8:30am in Providence Rd and Queens 488 Spider in Rosso Corsa.

 

Nice to see a few people taking advantage of the nice weather we've had lately.

8/24 in Charlotte - Grey 458 Spider turning onto Providence from Wendover around 1:45p. Glad the people next to me stopped behind the line at the intersection since I barely saw it in time to grab a pic. Also a great-looking white V12 Vantage S cruising down Charlottetowne Ave at about 2p.

8/26 in Cary - Red 458 Italia on Chatham St in downtown Cary today around 3p. Very well-specced, and one that I hadn't seen around before. Also thought I'd mention, when I got to work a couple minutes later, one of my coworkers showed me a pic of a red 360 Spider that happened to be in front of her in traffic sometime today around noon on Western Blvd.

Today in Cary: red Porsche 996 GT3 at La Farm around 1:30p.

 

We need more in Bluffton SC. Maybe if there was a dealership here.

-Greyish white first gen Audi R8 V10 Spyder at Ten Ten and 50 around 9 am that morning.

Thursday, Sept 6th, in Cary:
Black McLaren 12C Spider at La Farm around 11a.

Saturday, Sept 8th, in Cary:
Red Lamborghini Gallardo Performante Spyder on Cary Pkwy near the YMCA around 2:30p.

Also on Thursday the 30th, saw the FCI truck at Penny and Holly Springs. Someone getting a new toy?

September 8th: Bright metallic orange McLaren 650S (same one I spotted on 7/29) cruising up Park Rd. north of Pineville
September 8th: Argento Nurburgring with black wrapped roof Ferrari California headed south on 521 just north of 160

 

Today in Garner: silver with white stripes Shelby Series 1 at Ten Ten and 50 around 3:15p. I have never ever seen one of these before. Granted, it could have been a knock off, but still, holy crap, not something you usually see while driving to work on a Monday afternoon (yes I know, I work weird hours).

 

Black Aventador spotted on 485 outer near Matthews yesterday.

 

Nero Ferrari 550 or 575M (I only saw the rear of the car as I passed) parked out front of Vintage Cars, Inc. on 521 south in Indian Land 9/24 around 4:15pm.

 

Friday in Raleigh:
-Black i8 Roadster in North Hills around 9:45p, apparently a white 458 Spider had been parked in front of it earlier that night.

Monday in Cary:
-White current-gen Audi R8 V10 Plus with black wheels and accents in the La Farm parking lot around 2p or so.

 

A few interesting cars out tonight in Raleigh:

Black first-gen refresh R8 on Glenwood near Alchemy about 6:15.
White R32 Skyline GT-R on Hillsborough at Glenwood a few minutes later.
Brand new Corvette ZR1 in black on Salisbury St around 6:30.
White Aventador Roadster on Salisbury St near the Wells Fargo building around 6:30.
Red 360 Spyder parked at a wheels/audio store off of 70/401 right near Tryon at about 7:00.
Orange 570S with a huge wing hauling tail down 70/401 a minute or so later.
