Image Unavailable, Please Login Would you mind helping with giving an estimate of value on this model? A friend of mine appointed me as his executor and he died a few months ago, so I need to dispose of a building full of antique toys and aviation related items. This speedboat model is among the collection and I don’t know anything about it to set a price. I’d prefer to sell it to someone on Fchat if possible.

    Thanks very much. Jeff

Do you know who the manufacturer was and length? I've seen them sell for between $100-$300 on ebay.

I will take it...always wanted one!

Judging from the Peter Helck art book it is sitting on it's 30" long?
That's a great book, have two copies of it.

The smaller versions of the 'Arno' Hydrofoil are at least $300 (check with Lilliput Motors, they sometimes have them)
But I think the one you have is worth more.....

So, whatever...my condolences but iit looks like quite the Treasure Trove!!

Image Unavailable, Please Login OK Big Tex, you’ve got first right of refusal on it. Let me try to get some better idea of the value so the heirs don’t run me out of town, and if that number works for you...it’s yours. And I can send detail shots for you. The hull is wood with a zillion tiny brass nails or brads... Yes 30 inches would be my guess.

Here’s something else, not Ferrari, but close. I’m sure is not vintage, newish but nicely made. Would be fun for a member with kids of pedal car age.

By the way, when my friend was sick, we set up for the American Picker guys to visit, which they did in May, and the show is supposed to air late November or early December.

I also had a friend that was a great candidate for the "pickers" show.

He was killed in a crash.

Took widow three years to organize the estate Sale.
    A cautionary tale....

    :D :D :D
Thanks, assuming I don't have to sell a car to buy it!!

I also had a friend that passed and left behind a few truck loads of memorabilia behind. She just wanted everything gone, so I purchased it all from her. Very overwhelming and sad situation to go through.

The boat that you have is not the same one as sold by Ferrari. Look at the detail: real springs on the engine cover intake, metal surround at the front of the engine cover, etc. It looks more like the less expensive versions that are widely sold on the internet for just above $100-200, or it could be made from the more expensive kit made by Amati which is $600-700

Is is electric powered and radio controlled? If so, then it is the Amati version. How long is it?
If I had to guess, I would say that it is the Amativersion

Whenever I have had to deal with an Estate collection....I usually will get the items evaluated and appraised just to keep the relatives from eating each other. Your current price points range from $150-$5,000 for the boat. Way too much of a spread to explain to beneficiaries. There is always one relative that screams they are being ripped off by the Executor.

Early this year I was in Vietnam and their counterfeit version which was really good (markings and craftsmanship) cost $150.

I Googled around, as posted there are several versions..

I hope this one has no RC internals!!??

There is a small 19" version.
There are KIts, and there are Scratch Built

It appears the larger 30 or 32" version is the top $500 offering
It also apparenty come in kit and scratch built...from China.

    Sigh......:/

Yes, that is exactly right! I'd just like to find out definitively what it is really worth so Big Tex can add it to his collection at a fair price with FChat discount (and without me getting clobbered by the heirs!)

    Hi Eric,

I should be able to get up to the storage location in a few days. I'll take a much closer look at it and post the information I find and detail pictures.

In the meantime, I'd estimate the length as in the 30" range.

    Thanks, Jeff

Unfortunately not worth as much as it looks like it should be. Made In Vietnam. Absolute top dollar retail on these is between $600 - $800. and that is really top dollar. Above that would be auction house BS fever. You can often find these on eBay, and also buy directly from the manufacturer and its distributor for very low prices. In the $300. range....sometimes less.

I used to sell these and other hydroplane m0des through my business, but stopped due to pricing issues, and that these are now very common and can be found almost everywhere.
