While doing a little web browsing to learn more about the series on Enzo Ferrari that’s coming from Apple+tv (the bad news: it’ll be another dramatization, not a documentary) I came across this passage from Variety, the entertainment news and business site. Please see the middle paragraph that mentions a “Ferrari Spring Team.”

I have never seen or heard the characterization before. I have not been able to find it anywhere else on the internet, I couldn’t find it in the dense index of Dal Monte’s Ferrari biography.

Can somebody here say more about this “Spring Team”?

I thought so, too, but then I couldn’t recall any special way of referring to “the five drivers Enzo ‘adopted’ in his scuderia after the loss of his firstborn son.” When I have time maybe I’ll try to figure out which drivers those would have been. The implication is that they were all hired after June 30, 1956. Of course we don’t know if that was the first five or not.

I just finished reading Enzo's autobiography, and he doesn't mention anything like this-- and he discusses drivers extensively.
