On sunday 14th of January a Ferrari was stolen in Maldegem, Belgium. The car is a 14 year old blue Mondial T. Some people here will certainly know the car, as it belongs to Ann from the Flemish Ferrari Friends. All info regarding the theft can be directed to the local police of Maldegem, 050/72.71.60. Let's hope it will be found back again soon.
As a member of the Telaio group (over 130 Ferrari-VIN-spotters worldwide), I'd be happy to ask my fellow members to keep a look out for this car. Of course knowing the chassis number is very important for identifying this particular Mondial. Maybe you could add it to your message or send it by pm? Thanks and ciao, Lars T.
Hi gang, as a fellow member of Telaio I've seen this car on numerous occassions: Mondial T. Registration ANN - 107 I think for once she will not object to posting the VIN of her car, so please keep your eyes open for this one. I haven't seen (let alone stolen) the car, just wanted to say that this is a very fine example of a very nice 2+2 Ferrari. They really nailed it with the Mondial T.
I know the owner of this Mondial, she's a very nice lady. She certainly feels terrible! I wonder what bastards who steal cars like that , could eventually do with it? Known VINn° won't let them go very far ....idiots!
I know her too. Horrible news! This lady has a very big Ferrari heart and it what totally shocking news. I really hope they can find her car back. Who can be proud to own a stolen Ferrari? :S:S
Thanks Jurgen, I have just forwarded the VIN and the thread to the Telaio group, maybe one of us is lucky to spot this Mondial somewhere and assist in its recovery. Ciao, Lars T.
I know the lady as well. Has the car been stolen from her home or somewhere parked along the road ?? A blue Mondial t shouldn't be to hard to be recovered when it appears on the road sometime. There aren't that many in this color or am I wrong. When it moves to a country like Japan though, it will be hard. When it stays in Europe, the possibility of being spotted is big. Eddy
Not at home... the Mondial has been stolen on a parking in Maldegem. Let's hope it will soon be spotted somewhere... but I doubt it... Probably hidden away in a garage or truck or something... But sooner or later it has to surface... most likely re-sprayed?
Hmmz onces its over the Russian border you can shake it as well. Ofcourse not all the Russians are bad guys, but someone told me a story when I was in Poland for a holiday about his Mercedes S500 that was stolen while he was inside his house to take some papers. When he came back outside 1 guy started his car while the other hold a gun in front of man im talking about. He did everything to stop the guys at the Russian border, but the car passed by the border because people overthere are scared to stop criminals like that. Hope the this will work out better.
A bit of-topic, but some years ago some Ferraris were stolen from Garage Monza during the night. Wonder if those ever surfaced. Only thing is that Ferrariparts are hard to come by and very expensive, so big chance stolen cars end up in parts. Jurgen
Yes, and there was also a hype in Belgium to steal exotics in front of traffic lights (I know someone who's 355 was stolen that way, but he got his car back)
Ik know what it feels like to own a Mondial T but i'll hope never to experience to loose my car My thoughts are with the owner !!! I'll hope the Tellaio group wil find something out of the whereabouts of this beautiful CAR
Sad story.... I cannot imagine a 14 year old "ordinairy" Mondial stolen...? A Modena or expensive car is prone to be stolen, but what about a Mondial? My guess:it was stolen on command,to get spare parts for a wrecked car... Ferrari's are not Golf IIII...! Grrrr, car thieves should be dead! I had to deal with them once with a Porsche 911 3.2L. I felt really bad,but I knew what was goin' on,and with some pressure exercised on the right person, and a littl' money, the car came back... Seriously,I could kill them with a BIG SMILE,and feel good about it afterwards... Speedman
Wilfried from garage Monza found his cars back in France, with help from a detective, so, not so far as we think....
I'm really sorry to know this horrible story. It will be a miracle if it shows up again in good shape, let's hope that. I can promisse that I will be with all my eyes if it shows up in Portugal. Normally they go in trucks to eastern Countries, Moldavia, Russia, Belarus and further... But, sometimes, they appear in Portugal to be shipped to Africa and South America. Tomorrow I will comunicate its VIN to Portuguese Authorities. Hope everything ends up well. Regards, Miguel
I get sick from messages about a stolen Ferrari: everyone should leave your hands off from someone elses properties!! Especially Ferrari's, as they are cultural heritage for everyone. And chop one in pieces for parts???? Oh my God! Don't let it be true. My car was stolen 7 years ago (i don't was owner then) but surfaced fortunately, however; whith a lot of damage and in a different colour. From yellow to red (328 gts, '88). The message from Miguel gives hope; what a splendid idea! Well done Miguel! And Ann; I feel with you. Keep hope girl!
GOOD NEWS !!! They found the Mondial back !YAY! Im so happy for the owner. I don't have any details, just wait.
