Where does this car (575) fit in with the Ferrari line-up. Why haven't I heard much about it since it's debut? Anyone own one?

It was a one-year only offering - very rare car, similar in distribution to the 550 Barchetta. Only, I suspect, the 575 SuperAmerica will be worth more in the future - the rigid power-top and the extra HP/Torque over the 550 Barchetta would make it more desirable.

Parts bin special to clear out carcasses of 575's which was rendered a classic car immediately by the 599. 575 was a fantastic looking car and SA is a cool cruiser so it has a good following. Definitely a useful car and rare

The new SuperAmerica has to be one of the prettiest Ferraris that has ever been built, a red on red SA is my dream car.

559, demand was for 560, but Ferrari had to make one less than the market demand.

Since the 348, Ferrari makes an enhanced, limited production "speciale" of each model, during or immediately after that model's cessation. For the 348, there was the 348 Serie Speciale (116); for the 355, there was the 355 Serie Fiorano (100); for the 360, there was the Challenge Stradale (-1,300+); for the 550, there was the 550 Barchetta by Pininfarina (448); for the 575M, there was the Superamerica (559); for the F430, there's the 430 Scuderia (no production total available), for the 612, there's the 612 Sessanta (60). You could even say that for the 512 TR, there was the F512 M (500). There are rumors that Ferrari will make a limited production car closely based off of the 599, that will employ a similar Revochromic roof as seen on the Superamerica.

That roof is now standard on the 612, so it would seem likely that it would show up on the 599 also.

You guy's are awesome, I should have done a search for this topic before posting about it, but I didn't think about it until after I started this thread. Most forums would've been quick to tell me to do a search, but not you guys. Thanks, with the info you've given me here and the search I did minutes after I started this thread I have plenty of information. Again I want to thank you for not quickly pointing out the search feature.

By the way I don't know how I would feel about a Superamerica version of the 599. The glass roof would be interesting though.

Is it the sail panels / flying buttress thank hits you wrong?

While I'm not in that camp, I have heard that the rear end treatment was the objectionable area.

I believe you - but do you have serial numbers for all of them...?
