EVO and Octane are two fine British magazines. EVO is totally new car oriented, but at least Octane has more old car articles and is a cut above all the British car magazines presenting motorcars as something like David E. Davis was trying to do at times in Car & Driver (like the owners also go riding to the hounds and such).Anyway they team up on special issues called MAGBOOKs and I consider myself lucky to find this one on a newwstand because it has really gtreat pictures from the last few years of both magazines' coverage of Ferraris the best coverage being that of a Ferrari 250GTO being restored step by step, that story alone running to at least 5 pages in color. It also has two page layouts on many significant Fifties and Sixties Ferraris. The coverage is not real deep on any one model but if you like old Ferraris and the latest models it has plenty of both though this issue hit the stands before the newest new Ferrari (La Ferrari) . My only beef is that the pages are falling out of my brand new issue aftger only two readings, which shocks me, these two magazines being the top of their game but maybe they aren't used to doing something this thick--258 pages. Overall it's the best softbound magazine I have seen to give an overall view of Ferrari's past and present and I'd say get it while it's available, probably carried by the same newsstands that carry EVO and Octane. .

PS My background in magazines goes back half a century, but seldom in the coffee-table book like magazines, a term I use for the extra high quality ones like Octane.
