Hi, I have the in-car system in recently purchased F12 - any tips or tricks to get it working well?

Messed around with it some - installed the ipad app (is there a PC version?) and did get some data recording, but no video

Thanks to any experts - Instructions are not really very good

I have factory telemetry in my TDF. It came with software for pc on a USB. I was not aware there was an iPad version. It is configurable with a number of widget windows. It works really well for me, although I had a few teething issues getting it set up on the pc. Data capture in the car is pretty straightforward.

I like the virtual coach function when you compare laps. Points out differences between your current lap and base lap - where you got on gas early/late, braking early late, time lost/gained.

Here is one of my saved layouts, but I usually lay it out with a bit more data on my larger screen.

What sort of issues are you having?

EDIT: I noticed you said you were having video issues. I did too at the start. Not sure about the iPad version, as I mentioned above, but on PC, I had to ensure I had my video codecs up to date.

Hi - thank you, yes - factory installed telemetry.
looks great. I am haven't figured out how to have the system capture video, though i am able to confirm the cameras are working (show video on the right hand video screen in "test" mode). Ill try a few more times to see what i can figure out.

the data you capture on the USB while plugged into the car, then transfer it to your PC?

The USB does have PC software on it - Ferrari Telemetry-1.5.0-Setup, but i get an error on windows 10 about "app cant run on the PC". not critical, as the free ipad store app looks to be working well.

To your last point first - the software that came on my factory supplied USB was corrupt and would not run. So was a second version i tried from another owner. We eventually sourced a copy that would install and run correctly.

Yes, the data captures direct to a USB. Each track you set up will have its own folder on the USB. For PC, you just copy the folder to your hard drive and open lap files from there individually. If its a brand new USB key, I think I recall there is an option in the telemetry menu to initialise it before first use. (Don’t hold me to that one)

You have to record a new track doing a relatively slow lap before you start capturing your telemetry data. Do not start recording in the pit lane or your car may not realise when you have completed a lap (or finished capturing a new track).

Also, in my car, there are two USB ports. Only one of them is used for capturing telemetry data, so you need to make sure to have it in the right port or your telemetry system wont initialise.

Do you have two cameras - one in front of rear view mirror, and one in the centre just behind you? There is a setting for your video to say which is the main image and which is the smaller inset image. You can see in the screenshot above that i have mine set so rear showing driver is the inset one.
