    Hi

Whilst it maybe the devil's talk I know some customisers converted the Testarossa into a convertible.

Does anyone know of any for sale and or would anyone have any views / recommendations on a customiser who I could commission to do the "chop" to a standard car.

    Thanks in advance

Straman was the best known in the 80s/early 90s. I believe there have been several threads on this over the years that list some of the other shops that do/did the conversions. There’s one for sale at Stuart Parr in New York which is also in the Scottsdale Auction tonight. There used to be at least two owners on Fchat. Hopefully one will chime in shortly.

Wow that car looking amazing with a drop top but the body flex was aggressive with a hard top can’t think of it with a convertible there’s only so much room for supports and still making it look good
But who cares I would take it in a heartbeat

I'd be worried about body flex etc. but damn does it ever look great!

Everyones first comment is body flex..On my straman there were additional steel longitudinal beams in cabin along the floor of the rocker panels, they were carpeted to blend in, there were multiple cross members too under the car....I really did not detect flex at all...the weakness was in a flimsy canvas top frame that jiggled like a 68 vettes suspension..the rattle kinda took away from the uniqueness..also he put no additional bracing in the a pillars so there was windshield frame flex...the chassis was like an iron sled though.
All in all, I would have another...the lines are just too nice!
