Expensive, but look pretty cool. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=42606&item=4552121893&rd=1
Yes they are. And when you deal with Randy, you'll never go wrong. Or for that matter, with any of the people at Continental!
Very cool, I purchased a a lot of these years ago, ended up selling all but one. When I bought them they were advertised as being used at the factory itself; it still has bits of the wall they were attached to. Were they really from the factory? Who knows, sure is cool though.
I bought a couple of the tiles a year or so ago from Continental. I was in Chicago for a day and I always stop by there just to see what they have. I thought those were the coolest!! They said that they had purchased them direct from Italy and that they were indeed authentic tiles from the factory floor. They had some pics posted of people who had purchased them and actually used them. I think one guy had them around the wall in either a bathroom or the garage. A great conversation piece!! Whoever mentioned Randy above was correct. I have rebuilt several Ferraris in the past and Randy has been the most helpfull parts person I have found. He always does what he can to accomidate his customers!!
I bought a box of these from Continental, through eBay last year. I agree, they were wonderful to deal with...oh yeah, the tiles are really nice.
Give Randy a call, he'll tell it to you straight! http://www.continentalautosports.com/ Click on Ferrari. P.S. Tell him Skip told you to call.
If memory serves me right, and it rarely does, those were not used in the factory but rather at Cavallino Ristorante accross the street. They were not made for Enzo but for the restaurant. In either case they are very much linked to Ferrari and the factory since Cavallino is basically an extended Ferrari Factory cantina. I have one of them and love it. Very special and very nice to look at.
It was last year and a box of 9 tiles was 'bout $160, including shipping(they are very heavy). I'll check my receipt and let you know.
Nice looking tiles - I can imagine that they would make a nice addition to someone's garage or display room! My only question is the stance of the horse - it doesn't look accurate to me - isn't one of the rear legs supposed to be kicking forward? (I believe it's the right rear leg)... Byron
In the photos from my recent visit to Maranello these tiles are used on the bar at front of the Ristorante Cavallino and on the back wall of Enzo Ferrari's old office at the house in the center of the Fiorano track. Sorry I don't have access to a scanner right now or I would post the photos...
Good point............ Doesn't look right. trashidelek!, in your picture can you tell if they are in the same stance?
They are the real deal. All of my pics show the horse in the same stance. Also, the Ebay page says the tiles are marked "Valentino," which is one of the brands made by Ceramiche Piemme which is located right behind the Fiorano track.
I think you're right. Upon closer examination, it looks more like this "horse" is hopping like a kangeroo! Those are probably some reboxed Australian "roo tiles" that are being pawned off as Ferrari memorabilia. Haven't I seen the same tiles on the walls at McDonalds?
That's all they have to do! Call toll free 1-888-459-2707, ask for Randy and tell him Skip sent you. I have no affiliation whatsoever, blah blah blah. I'm just a satisfied customer for many years.
Talk about reviving a thread from the dead... This just doesn't sound right: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FERRARI-FACTORY-TILE-FROM-CAFETERIA-REMODELING-IN-70-S_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQcategoryZ42606QQihZ005QQitemZ150151970766QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V I never did get these when I had the chance. Any idea if they are still available?
