Ferrari to replace the Enzo.

You'll probably see the replacement car for sale at least 7 + years down the road !

 

Maybe Ferrari will fit the long anticipated 7 speed F1 gearbox + 850 Bhp V12 powerplant and over 250 mph top speed !

 

BUT WHAT WILL THEY CALL IT NEXT ???

NOTHING CAN BE MORE SUPERIOR THAN THE FOUNDER'S NAME...RIGHT ???

 

I understand what you`re saying but they will always be a faster supercar. Lamborghini will make something better than the Murcielago and Pagani will do the same after making the Zonda. Plus there`s McLaren who plans (rumours)to make a new supercar in the future. (2007-2008)

And you have the new Chrysler and Bugatti supercar coming out.

So I can`t see Ferrari going downhill in performance.
You mentioned the 7 speed F1 gearbox ... I`m 99% sure the new supercar will have that gearbox and it will be the first Ferrari road car to have it.

What will they call it? I guess it will be F60 because Ferrari 60 th anniversary will be in 2007.

Wise words from a purist. Though I do prefer having those creature conforts and drivers aids added in many modern supercars it does gradually take the skill and, most of all, the fun in driving these great machines.

 

Easy. If they want to release it in the near future, make it a cross between the Ferrari Enzo, Maserati MC12 and Maserati MCC.

Give it a 806+bhp (i.e. more than Koenigsegg CCR) V10 revving up to 9000rpm, 7-speed electrohydraulic gearbox, reduce the weight (compared with the Enzo), racing seats and harness as standard, and put an F430 style E-Diff into it, except with more Formula 1 adjustable setup controls (e.g. brake balance, fuel mixture, adjustable rev limit).

 

Give me my delivery date please for the above vechile. Consider it SOLD.

 

Idefinately could see the F60 coming out around 2007. The F40 came out 3 years after the 288 GTO, the F50 came out about three years after the end of the F40 run, and the Enzo came out about five years after the end of the F50(they made it from 95-97 right). There is definately still a market for the cars so I wouldn't be surprised to see an F60 in only three more years.

 

Ok seems probable with the name F60 as it will be their 60th anniversary !

Sorry but I have to argue the point that Enzo would not approve. I agree the SLR is horrible and has no place in any market, but I think you are being a little harsh on the CGT and the Enzo. First I will have to ask, have you ever driven either car or at least been driven in them? The CGT is an amazing car and much more raw than you think. Just look at the clutch and tell me of a more difficult car to drive. The only other car I can think of is the Mclaren, its clutch is just as difficult. Leather seats are nothing to get angree about. The Enzo is lacking many comforts and if you have ever driven one or at least driven in one you will know that is is VERY raw for most owners. It is very loud in the cockpit and is a very rough ride, its great. The CGT is by far more comfortable but thats what they were aiming for. I know several CGT owners and one uses the damn thing as a daily driver and already has 5,000 miles on his and tracks it. He says the clutch is the biggest problem because of stop and go traffic. One thing I also would like to mention is visibility is amazing in the CGT and not so great in the Enzo. Ferrari tried to pick owners that would actually drive the cars, so you cant blame them for putting in air conditioning and leather covered racing seats. I just think sometimes people get a little too carried away and then call themselves purist. Guys, lets face it, things change and so does technology. Even the customers change. Ferrari was not selling cars to guys in their 20s like they are now. It is a very different world and demographics change. I love a good gated 6 speed but if I have to hear another person ***** about the F1 gearbox Im gonna shoot myself. Its not like they took away the 6 speed option, they just give you the option to shift a little bit faster or in most cases allow you to take the car out more often without the hassle. I live in the bay area in CA and I know many guys that miss thier 6 speed, but dont miss the fact that they could only take the car out on weekends and now they can drive the car to work without worrying about getting stuck on a hill on your way into the financial district with some idiot behind you and you have to worry about rolling back. Anyway my point is, if you want something truely raw then find a way to become a Corse Clienti customer and get an F1 car. And for guys that dont like the F1 gearbox, they only come with paddles.

 

A modern take the 288 GTO Evoluzione would be interesting. A bit more civilized, but with a ton of power and a nice low weight mixed with all the incredible advances in the Enzo, 430 and anything else they can come up with by then.

 

You know what? I do have to agree with you. They will NEVER EVER build something as raw as the F40 or the 288 GTO for that matter. I will admit that I am not a big fan of turbo cars but it doesnt get anymore raw than the F40. You know what would be interesting? If ferrari would build a super limited car that was a single seater. I know its not as much fun as having a buddy in the passenger seat with you enjoying the fun, but most of the guys I know with Enzo's rarely ride with a co-pilot, but it is nice to have the option. It would be interesting though if they would or could adopt the Mclaren 3 passenger seating.
