Yeah and it's been 7-10 deg C there for 2 days now. Very cool and highly probable that it will be damp at some point during the weekend.
So do I!..... Lifted from Autosport: As some of us postulated in the race thread, they also believe Fred's failure was bought on by the clutch failure and thence the way he had to drive the thing. Full story: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/82848 Cheers, Ian
Holy crap. I had no idea it was that early on....I agree that such reliability issues will prove very crucial going into Europe.
At least this season Ferrari doesn't have to worry about leaving the fuel hose stuck in the car at the end of a pit stop.
HAHAHA let's just hope FA didn't bring those pesky "tires staying on the car" problems over from Renault.
But they didn't say it was worn, they said that the gearbox broke on the parade lap and left Alonso with no clutch for the race. It needs to be remembered that the clutches on these cars are far more complicated than it's road going cousin and they're far less durable, despite the amount of power they have to cope with.
Yeah, they're only expected to deal with a standing start maybe half a dozen times, and power starts maybe three times... out to grid, formation lap, race start, pit stop, pit stop.
Wasn't it Hungary in 2006 when that first happened? Tire kept going and then Alonso ended up in the gravel and into the wall. I can close my eyes and see it happening now but can't remember the exact race.
