You can go mid engine sports car. GT and even a 4 seat GT. Each have high performance options stiffening them up if that's what you want. My body is beat up enough already and I have lost interest in cramped cars,no space, hard to get in and out of the thing. Love my comfortable 575. Just right on the road but obviously too soft on a track. Was considering a Bentley vert at the time. Definitely made the right choice for me.can drive for hours and not feel beat up at the end of the drive. I'd like a hard, sharp on the edge feel for probably almost 20 minutes ONCE in a while. Your post summarises why I sometimes think the obsession here in the uk for fhp 575 makes absolutely no sense

I have had many injuries from my day's playing college Football and my continuing obsession with bodybuilding. I think nearly every ferrari made today is too soft. I love them all as raw sports cars. For a comfortable GT i'll buy a porsche or an aston.

I like my sports cars sporty and my luxury cars luxurious. I don't like when either one tries to emulate the other.

Don't care about creature comforts, cup holders, stereos, GPS, comfort mode suspension, or anything similar in my sports cars.

Not looking for neck snapping acceleration, good cornering, or top speed in my luxury rides.

Cars should be one or the other, not try to be both. (Even though with today's technology they can be.) Just my humble, and ignored opinion.

Good points and I agree we need at least one true raw & visceral car from Ferrari.

However, consider this: Technology has allowed us to have a "ferocious" sports car that can be practical or dare I say even comfortable. Of course, the drawback are higher prices. But, lets not forget that part of Ferrari lore is a nice looking car that can be driven to the track, destroy the competition, and then get driven back.

I've owned 2 Enzo-era Ferraris that are about mean & pissed off as any sports car can be. I recently purchased a 612 - a 2+2 Ferrari - that has some luxury and can carry 4 adults. Yet when called upon, the 612 can be pretty fierce too. It is quicker around the track than a 360 and I've come to appreciate the "Clark Kent / Superman" persona that the car has. While I rarely got messed with when I had the older Ferraris, with the 612 I get to clobber lots of unsuspecting fools who think they are messing with just another luxury GT car. :)

What he said. Different cars, different occasions. But that's mostly down to preference these days.

Every few years when I shop for a new car that the performance envelope goes beyond whatever the previous generation "hardcore" performance cars did. The tradeoffs aren't anything close to what they once were. BMW and Audi sedans, for example, can do neck-snapping acceleration on demand, or cruise sedately.
