    I’m curious if these tool kits you often see in restored cars are usually original kits that are restored as well, or they are knock-offs. Or, just well preserved originals?

    Maybe some small parts reproduction, doesn't matter. More power to the owner for huge effort

    ive seen tool kits at pebble beach that were full on nice repros to totally original. most kits are original with a few repros to round out. which is nice.
    to me a totally reproduced kit is like looking at a fake rolex, nice but who cares.
    a really nice original kit is to be admired both for its rarity and the owners desire to be authentic. it has true value.
