So, an article in the local paper this morning regarding a re-opening of a small museum references the fact that one of the items on display will be an old Ferrari tractor.. I plan on checking this out tomorrow, but I gotta say this is something totally new to me! Did Ferrari manufacture tractors???

  3. Enzo started the company shortly after the disgusting loss to Ford. Still carrying a grudged against Lamborghini, he decided the only way he could even the score was to enter Lamborghini's cash cow, his tractor business. While the Ferrari tractor was the correct shade of red, it soon fell out of flavor with it's users (primarily gentleman farmers). Dealers selling above msrp and bogus waiting lists made the farming enthusiasts angry. Timing belt replacement requiring an engine out service and having to warm up the tractor before using second gear added to the woes. Or so they say :)

How did that company get the rights to use the name and why aren't the tractors red? Everybody knows that all Ferraris are red.

OK, did the visual today and the name is Ferrari in a rather different font. However, it did have some commonality with the Maranello product such as a gated shifter, i.d. plate with easy access for alterations, superb design attention to ground effects, and the obligitory four drip pans under the chassis. Since the color was green, one must assume it to be a privateer team indulging in endurance contests.......

I know its not a Ferrari but for the benefit of tractor enthusiasts there was a lamborghini tractor on their stand at the 2012 Birmingham Motorshow in UK.
